Job summary

Programmers.io in Hyderabad is seeking an experienced AS/400 professional to drive development on the iSeries platform. You will work on RPGLE and CL programs, implement ILE features, and build subroutines and service programs.

The role involves collaborating with clients, creating design documents, and mentoring juniors to ensure timely delivery of projects. familiarity with iSeries Navigator, IFS, and related tools is a plus.

Qualifications

• Our client requires hands-on experience in IBM AS400 iSeries platform and RPGLE programming.
• Proficiency in Integrated Language Environment (ILE).
• Experience creating and debugging RPG/CL programs.
• Ability to create sub-procedures, subroutines & service programs.
• Knowledge of SEU, PDM, DFU and spool files.
• Experience with iSeries Navigator and IFS.
• Knowledge of Web Services, XML, HTML, and JavaScript is a plus.
• Ability to handle client requirements, draft design documents and present to clients.
• Mentor junior developers to ensure successful delivery.

Responsibilities

• Develop and debug RPG/CL programs on the iSeries platform.
• Create sub-procedures, subroutines and service programs.
• Utilize SEU, PDM, DFU and manage spool files.
• Work with iSeries Navigator and IFS for administration tasks.
• Leverage Web Services, XML, HTML, and JavaScript as needed.
• Gather client requirements, prepare design documents, and walkthrough with clients.
• Mentor junior developers to ensure timely and quality project delivery.
