Job summary

Barry Wehmiller in Chennai invites an experienced AS400 Developer with strong RPG and ILE RPG skills to join our team. You will develop and maintain AS400 applications, gather and analyze requirements, implement customizations and enhancements, test, deploy, and provide post-go-live support.

The role requires hands-on experience with RPG, ILE RPG, CL, SQL, and familiarity with AS400 development lifecycle, including debugging, UAT support, and production support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field from a reputed institution.
• 1+ years of experience in AS400/iSeries development.
• Strong hands-on experience with RPG and ILE RPG.
• Experience with CL/CLLE and SQL.
• Strong understanding of AS400 application development, debugging, testing, and deployment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain AS400 applications using RPG, ILE RPG, CL, and SQL.
• Work on customizations and enhancements to meet client requirements in the Infor XA application.
• Gather and analyze business requirements and identify appropriate technical solutions.
• Design, code, modify, debug, and optimize AS400 programs.
• Develop and maintain database structures, file layouts, and related components.
• Perform unit testing and support system/integration testing and UAT.
• Support deployment of completed developments to Test and Production environments.
• Provide post-go-live support, troubleshoot issues, and resolve application defects.
• Support data migration, system upgrades, and application enhancements.
• Prepare technical documentation and maintain coding and development standards.
• Collaborate with clients, business stakeholders, and technical teams throughout the development lifecycle.
• Recommend application improvements and enhancements based on business/user requirements.
• Mentor junior team members and contribute to continuous improvement of development practices.
