Job summary

3M HEALTHCARE is seeking an AS400 developer to design, modify, and test AS400 programs using RPG and ILE RPG. The role includes requirements gathering, development, unit testing, and post-go-live support for the Infor XA environment, with data migration and system upgrades as part of the responsibilities.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering and has 5–8 years of AS400 development experience.

Responsibilities

• Gather and analyze customer requirements to identify viable solutions.
• Develop and modify AS400 programs using RPG, CL, and other relevant languages.
• Write, test, and debug AS400 applications to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
• Perform unit testing and participate in system, integration, and User Acceptance Testing.
• Support transition of applications to Test/Production systems and provide post‑go‑live support.
• Assist with data migration, system upgrades, and performance optimization.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and team members to resolve issues.
• Plan, design, code, debug, and deploy sustainable software solutions per best practices.
• Conduct requirements analysis and document technical specifications.
• Recommend product revisions based on user feedback.
• Evaluate new technologies and build PoCs.
• Ensure software development and change management best practices for a stable production environment.
• Coach and mentor team members.
