Job summary

Appagentix seeks an AI Automation Engineer to design, build, and maintain AI-driven automation solutions for internal operations and clients across finance, healthcare, real estate, and lead generation. You will create automation workflows, integrate LLMs, and develop backend scripts in Python/JavaScript.

The role requires 2–4 years of software/automation experience, strong REST API skills, and hands-on work with n8n/Make/Zapier, PostgreSQL/Supabase, and Docker.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field or equivalent practical experience.
• 2–4 years of experience in software development, automation engineering or systems integration.
• Hands-on experience with workflow automation platforms such as n8n, Make or Zapier.
• Proficiency in Python or JavaScript with production code experience.
• Experience integrating LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini) including prompt design and function calling.
• Strong understanding of REST APIs, webhooks and JSON handling.
• Experience with PostgreSQL/Supabase and SQL.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools (Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot).
• Nice to have: RAG, vector DBs, Redis, Docker, WhatsApp/Twilio integrations.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain AI-driven automation workflows and agents.
• Integrate LLMs and AI services into business processes.
• Create and maintain integrations with CRMs, databases, messaging platforms, and voice services.
• Develop backend scripts in Python/JavaScript for data transformation and API orchestration.
• Manage data storage with PostgreSQL/Supabase and caching/queue layers (Redis).
• Translate stakeholder requirements into technical automation solutions and document designs.
• Test, monitor, troubleshoot and optimize workflows for reliability, performance and cost.
• Evaluate new AI tools/frameworks and recommend adoption where valuable.
• Prepare technical demos and handover material for clients and internal teams.

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

We are looking for an AI Automation Engineer to design, build and maintain AI-driven automation solutions for our internal operations and for our clients across industries such as finance, healthcare, real estate and lead generation.

• Design, develop and deploy automation workflows and AI agents using platforms such as n8n, Make or Zapier, and custom code where required
• Integrate Large Language Models (OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini) and other AI services into business processes and applications
• Build and maintain integrations with third-party systems via REST APIs, webhooks and SDKs, including CRMs, databases, messaging platforms (WhatsApp, Slack, email) and voice/telephony services
• Develop backend services and scripts in Python or JavaScript for data transformation, API orchestration and business logic
• Design and manage data storage using PostgreSQL / Supabase, and caching or queueing layers such as Redis
• Gather requirements from business and client stakeholders, translate them into technical automation solutions, and document the design
• Test, monitor, troubleshoot and optimise automation workflows for reliability, performance and cost
• Evaluate emerging AI tools, frameworks and models, and recommend adoption where they add measurable value
• Prepare technical documentation, demos and handover material for clients and internal teams

PREFERRED CANDIDATE PROFILE

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
• 2 to 4 years of experience in software development, automation engineering or systems integration
• Hands-on experience with workflow automation platforms such as n8n, Make or Zapier
• Proficiency in Python or JavaScript, with the ability to write and debug production code
• Practical experience integrating LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini) into applications, including prompt design, structured outputs and function or tool calling
• Strong understanding of REST APIs, webhooks, authentication and JSON data handling
• Working knowledge of relational databases (PostgreSQL / Supabase) and SQL
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, Cursor or GitHub Copilot
• Good to have: experience with RAG and vector databases, AI agent frameworks, MCP, Redis, Docker, web scraping, WhatsApp Business API or Twilio
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently on multiple projects
• Good written and verbal communication skills for working with clients and internal stakeholders
