Job summary

Paytm is recruiting an Area Sales Manager to lead the field sales team across Bangalore west, south and central regions. The role focuses on expanding Paytm’s EDC/merchant solutions, onboarding new merchants, and maintaining strong retailer relationships.

The ideal candidate will drive device sales, hire and coach a high‑performing team, and ensure seamless day‑to‑day operations within an onsite setup.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to lead a sales team and drive measures.
• Experience onboarding merchants and managing offline payments.
• Strong sales strategy and execution skills across multiple locations.
• Effective people management and conflict resolution capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Drive swiping device sales in the assigned area across Bangalore west, south and central.
• Onboard new merchants for offline Paytm solutions and service existing merchants.
• Maintain strong relationships with PSU/Oil & gas sector merchants.
• Set team goals, delegate tasks, and ensure timely execution.
• Monitor performance metrics and coach the team to improve results.
• Hire and build a capable field sales team and organize training.

About the team:

The Oil and gas vertical Focused Offline payment solution team. Includes payment of oil/petrol and gas bills via POS and EDC machines. Predominantly dealing with Petrol and gas station Merchants and other Retail business ,handling end to end sales and Operations. Onboarding new merchants for offline solutions and servicing existing merchants. Maintaining good relationship with PSU Companies / Oil marketing Companies.

About the role:

The person should be capable of increasing the sale of EDC machines through proper channels to the merchants across multiple locations.
