Job summary

Larsen & Toubro Limited in Vadodara seeks an Electrical Design engineer to lead and review power distribution design, including MV/LV systems, switchgear and substations. You will prepare SLDs, load lists, cable schedules and equipment specs, ensuring compliance with client standards.

The role requires BE/BTech and strong familiarity with IEC, IEEE, NEC standards, plus experience with load calculations, cable sizing, and electrical equipment selection.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical engineering activities for assigned project areas.
• Design and review power distribution systems, including MV/LV systems, switchgear, and substations.
• Prepare and review single line diagrams (SLDs), load lists, cable schedules, and equipment specifications.
• Ensure compliance with codes, standards, and client specifications.
• Coordinate with process, instrumentation, telecom, and other disciplines for integrated design.
• Review vendor documents, technical offers, and support TBE.
• Support earthing, lightning protection, hazardous area classification, and safety requirements.
• Interface with clients and vendors for technical discussions and approvals.
• Ensure adherence to project quality, schedule, and deliverables.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead electrical engineering activities for assigned project areas
• Design and review power distribution systems, including MV/LV systems, switchgear, and substations
• Prepare and review single line diagrams (SLDs), load lists, cable schedules, and equipment specifications
• Ensure compliance with codes, standards, and client specifications
• Coordinate with process, instrumentation, telecom, and other disciplines for integrated design
• Review vendor documents, technical offers, and support technical bid evaluations (TBE)
• Support earthing, lightning protection, hazardous area classification, and safety requirements
• Interface with clients and vendors for technical discussions and approvals
• Ensure adherence to project quality, schedule, and deliverables

Preferred Experience

• Strong knowledge of electrical systems (power distribution, protection, and equipment design)
• Familiarity with international standards (IEC, IEEE, NEC)
• Experience in load calculations, cable sizing, and electrical equipment selection
• Proficiency in electrical engineering tools (ETAP, EDSA, etc.)
• Understanding of EPC workflows and multidisciplinary coordination
