Job summary

Zinnov Management Consulting in Bengaluru invites a Lead Archival Engineer to design, implement and operate enterprise archival, retention and application retirement solutions for both structured and unstructured data.

You will integrate with Informatica ILM, SAP ILM, OpenText Archive Center, Archive360, and ArchiveLink to satisfy retention, legal hold and retrieval needs while aligning with governance and security requirements.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in data archiving, lifecycle management or related fields.
• Hands-on with enterprise archival platforms: Informatica ILM, SAP ILM, OpenText Archive Center.
• Strong SQL skills with Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL or DB2.
• Scripting in Python or PowerShell; API exposure for archival orchestration.
• Experience with on-prem and cloud storage lifecycle policies.

Job description

As a Professional, Lead Archival Engineer, you will design, implement and operate enterprise data archival, retention and application-retirement solutions across structured and unstructured data. You will combine hands-on archival platform expertise with data governance, cloud storage and automation to ensure archived data remains compliant, searchable and accessible when required.

How you'll make an impact

• Lead the design and operation of enterprise data archival, retention, preservation and application-retirement solutions across the data lifecycle.
• Configure and support Informatica ILM / Data Archive / Application Retirement and/or SAP ILM / SAP Data Archiving, including retention, purge, retrieval and legal-hold rules.
• For SAP landscapes, support SARA / ADK archiving and integrations with ArchiveLink, SAP Content Server, OpenText or equivalent repositories, as applicable.
• Assess legacy applications and high-growth data stores; identify archival candidates, define source-to-archive mappings and support system decommissioning and historical-data retrieval.
• Integrate archival solutions with enterprise databases and cloud archive tiers such as AWS S3 / Glacier, Azure Blob Archive or equivalent services.
• Define classification, retention, disposition and legal-hold controls with Data Governance, Legal, Privacy, Security and Compliance; ensure reconciliation and auditability.
• Monitor archival jobs, storage usage, capacity and performance; troubleshoot ingestion, archive and retrieval issues; maintain recovery procedures.
• Automate archival operations and reporting using SQL, Python, PowerShell / shell scripting and APIs; maintain technical standards, documentation and knowledge transfer.

What you'll bring

Skills Required:

• 3+ years of relevant experience in data archiving, information lifecycle management, application retirement, data engineering, storage or a related technology role.
• Hands-on experience with at least one enterprise archival / application-retirement platform: Informatica ILM (Data Archive, Application Retirement, Data Vault), SAP ILM / SAP Data Archiving, OpenText Information Archive / Archive Center, Archive360 or equivalent.
• Strong understanding of retention, purge / disposition, legal hold, data retrieval, backup / recovery and long-term preservation practices.
• Working knowledge of Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL or DB2 with strong SQL skills for data analysis, validation and reconciliation.
• Scripting / automation capability using Python, PowerShell or shell scripting, with exposure to APIs for archival orchestration or operational automation.
• Experience with on-premises and/or cloud storage lifecycle policies, including archive / cold tiers on AWS, Azure or GCP.
• Understanding of data governance, data quality, metadata, lineage, classification, privacy and security controls, with ability to work in a global matrixed environment.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, Engineering or a related technical discipline.

Preferred:

• SAP ECC / S/4HANA archiving experience using SARA, ADK, SAP ILM Retention Management, Legal Hold, ArchiveLink and/or SAP Content Server.
• Experience with Informatica ILM capabilities such as Data Archive, Application Retirement / Data Vault, Data Validation or related Informatica tooling.
• Exposure to OpenText Archive Center / Information Archive, Archive360, PBS, Syniti, Solix, Hyland or comparable enterprise archiving platforms.
• Experience with application decommissioning, large-volume archival, eDiscovery or historical-data retrieval in regulated life sciences, medical device or healthcare environments.
• Familiarity with GxP, records retention, data privacy, audit readiness, data catalog / lineage tools such as Informatica EDC, Collibra or Microsoft Purview, and relevant cloud / data certifications.
