Job summary

OAU Objects Architecture Urbanism in Jaipur seeks a Design & Drafting engineer to prepare and modify architectural, civil drawings using AutoCAD and related tools. The role requires converting concepts into execution-ready GFC drawings and coordinating across Civil, Structural, MEP, and Interiors for accurate implementation.

Responsibilities include site coordination, QA/QC support, quantity take-offs, basic rate analysis, and adherence to IS/NBC guidelines.

Qualifications

• B.Tech / B.E. in Civil Engineering or Diploma required.
• Proficient in AutoCAD (2D mandatory; 3D preferred).
• Experience converting concepts into GFC drawings and execution-ready documents.
• Knowledge of IS Codes, NBC guidelines, and construction standards.
• Strong drawing coordination across Civil, Structural, MEP, Interiors.

Job description

1. Design & Drafting (Architectural + Civil)

• Prepare and modify architectural, structural, and working drawings using AutoCAD and relevant drafting software.
• Convert design concepts into detailed GFC (Good For Construction) drawings and execution-ready documents.
• Coordinate drawings across disciplines – Civil, Structural, MEP, Interiors.
• Maintain drawing documentation, revision logs, and version control.

2. Project Execution & Site Coordination

• Assist with execution planning by aligning drawings with on-site conditions.
• Work closely with site engineers to resolve drawing or technical discrepancies.
• Conduct site visits to verify drawing implementation and ensure accuracy between design & execution.
• Prepare as-built drawings during handover phase.

3. Technical Engineering Support

• Perform quantity take-offs, BOQ preparation, and basic rate analysis.
• Provide civil and architectural detailing support for foundations, RCC works, finishing, façade, joinery, etc.
• Ensure adherence to IS Codes, NBC guidelines, and construction standards.
• Assist in shop drawing review, approval and contractor coordination.

4. Quality, Compliance & Documentation

• Check and verify drawings before issuance to site or contractor.
• Support QA/QC by ensuring details and dimensions are correctly reflected.
• Maintain RFI logs, drawing transmittals, and site instruction records.
• Support tender documentation, material submittals, and technical data sheets.

5. Software & Technical Capability

• Excellent command over AutoCAD (2D mandatory, 3D optional)
• Knowledge of SketchUp / Revit / Lumion is an added advantage
• Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Project)
• Ability to read, interpret, and develop architectural, structural & interior drawings

6. Cross-Department Coordination

• Work with architects, structural consultants, contractors & PMC teams.
• Support client presentations through CAD drawings, layouts, and visual sheets.
• Participate in design meetings and site coordination discussions.

• Strong knowledge of RCC, finishes, detailing & construction drawings
• Ability to convert hand sketches / conceptual ideas into technical drawings
• Strong understanding of on-site execution requirements
• Time-bound working with attention to detail and zero-error drafting
• Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously

Education

• B.Tech / B.E. in Civil Engineering/Diploma
• M.Tech (Optional, added advantage)
