Job summary

Designers Quadrant Consultants is seeking an architectural design professional to develop concepts, space planning, and detailed drawings for diverse projects in Maharashtra. The role emphasizes adherence to UDCPR provisions, coordination with specialists, and preparation for municipal submissions.

The candidate will use AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp and other BIM tools to deliver accurate documentation, model coordination, and high-quality visualization. A collaborative team environment is expected.

Qualifications

• Sound understanding of architectural planning, design principles and space utilisation.
• Good working knowledge of the Unified Development Control and Promotion Regulations (UDCPR) applicable in Maharashtra.
• Proficiency in architectural software and digital tools for drafting, modelling and rendering.

Responsibilities

• Develop architectural concepts, space planning, layouts and design solutions based on project briefs and site conditions.
• Prepare conceptual, schematic, design development, municipal submission, working and detailed drawings.
• Coordinate with structural, MEP, fire, landscape and other consultants to ensure integrated designs.

Job description

• Architectural Design & Planning: Develop architectural concepts, space planning, layouts, and design solutions based on project briefs, site conditions, functional requirements, and applicable standards.
• Regulatory Compliance: Interpret and apply the relevant provisions of UDCPR applicable in Maharashtra, including FSI, setbacks, building height, margins, parking, access, and other development control requirements.
• Drawing Preparation: Prepare conceptual, schematic, design development, municipal submission, working, and detailed architectural drawings.
• Project Development: Contribute to projects across mass housing, commercial, institutional, industrial, healthcare, and hospitality sectors.
• Advanced Software Applications: Use architectural drafting, BIM, 3D modelling, rendering, visualization, and other digital tools to enhance design quality, accuracy, coordination, and productivity.
• Technical Documentation: Prepare architectural details, schedules, specifications, and construction documentation with due attention to design intent and technical requirements.
• Consultant Coordination: Coordinate with structural, MEP, fire-fighting, landscape, and other specialist consultants to ensure integrated and technically feasible design solutions.
• Statutory Approvals: Assist in the preparation and coordination of drawings and documents for municipal submissions, planning permissions, and other statutory approvals.
• Design Review & Quality Control: Review drawings and models for accuracy, consistency, regulatory compliance, constructability, and coordination.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with senior architects, project leads, consultants, and fellow team members, contributing positively to a collaborative and productive work environment.
• Project Execution: Manage assigned tasks efficiently, maintain drawing standards, meet project deadlines, and communicate progress, challenges, and design issues proactively.
• Continuous Learning: Stay updated with evolving architectural technologies, software, digital workflows, building practices, and changes in applicable development regulations.

• Architectural Design Fundamentals: Sound understanding of architectural planning, design principles, space utilisation, circulation, functionality, aesthetics, building orientation, and basic building design considerations.
• Knowledge of UDCPR: Good working knowledge of the Unified Development Control and Promotion Regulations (UDCPR) applicable in Maharashtra, with the ability to understand and apply relevant provisions during planning and design.
• Advanced Architectural Software Proficiency: Strong command of relevant architectural software and digital tools, including:
• AutoCAD for drafting and architectural documentation.
• Revit or equivalent BIM platforms for modelling and coordinated documentation.
• SketchUp, 3ds Max, Rhino, or equivalent 3D modelling software.
• Enscape, Lumion, D5 Render, V-Ray, or equivalent rendering and visualization tools.
• Microsoft Office and digital presentation tools for reports, schedules, and project coordination.
• Technology Orientation: Comfortable adopting new technologies, BIM workflows, AI-assisted design tools, automation, and emerging digital solutions to improve efficiency and output quality.
• Construction & Detailing: Basic understanding of building materials, construction methods, architectural detailing, and coordination with building services.
• Drawing Interpretation & Coordination: Ability to read, develop, review, and coordinate architectural drawings with other disciplines.
