Job summary

OpenText in Chennai, India is seeking a UCMDB Technical Consultant to design, implement and support complex discovery and integration projects across cloud and on-prem environments.

You will work with diverse teams to deliver end-to-end UCMDB solutions, configure advanced settings (SSL, LDAP, SSO), create views and reports, and troubleshoot discovery issues. This role emphasizes scripting and REST API integration.

Qualifications

• Experience in designing and architecting UCMDB solutions.
• Experience in deploying, configuring, and managing UCMDB, UD and CMS UI in various environments.
• Advanced configurations like SSL, SSO, LDAP and HA.
• Proficient in protocols (WMI, PowerShell, NTCMD, SSH, SNMP).
• Discovery knowledge: host, DB, middleware, application.
• Ability to create views, TQL queries and reports.
• Service Modelling experience.
• Experience with enrichment and impact analysis.
• Upgrade skills for UCMDB across versions.
• Integration with SMAX, ServiceNow, NNMi, OBM and other tools.
• Scripting in Jython/Python; REST API integration.
• Troubleshooting UCMDB servers and probes.
• Certification in UCMDB is a plus.

UCMDB Technical Consultant will provide technology consulting in the field of Infra Structure Discovery to external customers. Responsible for providing Design and Architecture, Implementation and Solution support to meet customers’ business needs and, consequently, for understanding customers’ businesses. Responsible for application administration and customization tasks for one or several highly complex customer cloud and off cloud deployments. A Technical Consultant possesses technical expertise in implementing, tuning and optimizing product solutions, adhering to Micro Focus (now Open text) best practices

• Good knowledge of cloud computing, containerization and Kubernetes technologies
• Has sufficient technical knowledge to assist with the completion of specific deliverables.

What You Need To Succeed

• Experience in UCMDB Design and Architecture
• Experience in deploying, configuring, and managing UCMDB, UD and CMS UI solutions in On-Premises, Cloud, and Container-based environments.
• Experience in UCMDB Advanced configurations like SSL, SSO, LDAP and HA configurations
• Experience in Protocols - WMI, Power Shell, NTCMD, SSH, SNMP and others etc.
• Basic Discovery and advanced level discovery includes host, host resources, Database, Middle ware and Application discovery.
• Experience in Creation of Views, TQL queries and Reports
• Experience in Service Modelling
• Enrichment and Impact Analysis creation exposure.
• UCMDB Upgrade experience from old versions to latest version
• UCMDB integration with SMAX, Service Now, NNMi, OBM and other 3rd party products
• Experience in Jython/Python scripting
• Experience in UCMDB discovery customization and developing integration adapters leveraging REST APIs.
• Troubleshooting skills in UCMDB Server, Probe issues and discovery issues.
• Micro Focus/OpenText UCMDB Certification is preferred.
