Job summary

AtkinsRéalis in Bengaluru seeks a motivated Electrical BIM/ CAD specialist to prepare SLDs, layouts and 3D models. You will develop substation layouts, integrate power and protection systems, and coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders.

This role requires a Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering and familiarity with Revit, AutoCAD, Microstation and Dynamo. You will join a multidisciplinary team, work on global projects, and contribute to Scan-to-BIM workflows while adhering

Overview:

Our Transmission & Distribution (T&D) business delivers end-to-end engineering solutions for power networks, including substations, transmission lines, and grid modernization. We support integration of renewables, digital engineering, and global compliance standards to ensure reliable and sustainable energy delivery.

The BIM team drives digital transformation by creating accurate 3D models, enabling clash detection, and supporting Scan-to-BIM workflows. Opportunities include advanced modelling, project coordination, automation using tools like Dynamo, and collaboration on global projects ideal for candidates passionate about innovation and multidisciplinary design.

Your role:

• Prepare SLDs, control schemes, layouts, 3D models, and hazardous area classifications.
• Develop substation layouts and infrastructure drawings including power, earthing, lighting and protection systems.
• Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Ensure quality assurance and compliance with CAD/BIM standards.
• Engage in BIM and Scan-to-BIM workflows.

About you:

Essential:

• Diploma / Degree in Electrical Engineering
• Strong interest in BIM, digital engineering, and infrastructure projects.
• Basic knowledge of CAD/BIM tools and engineering drawings.
• Willingness to build skills in 3D modelling, coordination, and global standards.
• Ability to work in a multidisciplinary and collaborative environment.
• Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Microstation, Dynamo.
• Strong understanding of CAD/BIM standards and drawing protocols.
• Ability to prepare and check complex drawings.
• Familiarity with Electrical/Structural/Mechanical design basics.

Desirable:

• Exposure to international engineering standards (UK, India, Middle East, APAC)
• Understanding of 3D modelling concepts and BIM maturity levels

Familiarity with:

• BIM Execution Plan (BEP)
• Xrefs / model linking
• Common Data Environments (CDEs)
• Interest or exposure to Scan‑to‑BIM workflows
