Job summary

Kennametal Stellite Inc. is seeking an Application Engineer to deliver runoff and application support, CPP optimization, and turnkey project execution at customer sites. You will document processes, share results with engineering and regional teams, and contribute to success case studies.

Candidates should have strong tool knowledge and the ability to work with customers across aerospace, transport, and general engineering sectors. Willingness to travel is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5–10 years experience in cutting tool sales, application function, or process engineering.
• Hands-on knowledge of cutting tool applications (Turning, Milling, Hole making).
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
• Good command of English (oral & written).
• Experience in CAD/CAM or CAM software is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Provide runoff, application, CPP/POP support for turnkey projects.
• Grow KIL share by supporting project run-off activities at customer locations.
• Provide application support and troubleshooting at customer sites.
• Support CPP/POP activities across customer locations.
• Develop proposals, study lines, and deliver value-delivery reports.
• Collaborate with customers, meet cycle time commitments, and sign off on projects.
• Maintain project documents and share success case studies.
• Willingness to travel to customer sites for project closure.

Job Summary

Describe the purpose of the job

Key requirement of this this job is to provide, runoff support, application support, CPP (cost per part), Productivity optimization to turn-key projects at customer site, document established process and parameters and share the same with Engineering service group and respective regional team, share success cases.

Key Job Responsibilities

• Provide Run-off /application /CPP/POP support to Turn-Key Projects for both KMT & WID Brands.
• To grow the KIL share by continuously supporting project run-off activities at various customer locations.
• To grow the KIL share by providing application support, trouble shooting at various customer locations.
• To grow the KIL share by continuously supporting CPP/POP activities various customer locations.
• Understand customer requirements, line study, provide proposals on CPP, support field team in proving the proposed project.
• Work closely with customers and prove the project as per cycle time commitment, tool life and CPC proposed.
• Conclude CPP, runoff projects, sign off with customer (MOM) and regional sales team.
• Maintain project documents and share unique success case studies.
• Should be willing to travel to customers in various geographic locations for conclusion of turnkey projects.

Education, Work Experience, Skills, Certificates

• Candidate should have minimum 5 to 10 yrs of experience either in Cutting tool sales / application function or in Process engineering / Process design function. Machine shop production experience will be an added advantage
• Should have sound knowledge of cutting tool applications, (Turning, Milling, Hole making, Hole finishing) hands on application/trouble shooting knowledge of guide pad reamers is an added advantage.
• Should have sound knowledge on Machining fundamentals, Process design, Process re-engineering, fundamentals of fixturing, etc.,
• Should be able to read and comprehend engineering drawings.
• Knowledge on process capability (Cp, CpK) will be an advantage
• Working exposure, use of Microsoft office application (word, excel, Power point…)
• Should be able to trouble shoot tool performance and related issues.
• Should have experience in providing tool proposals.
• Knowledge of CAD/CAM , use and application of CAM software’s like , Esprit, NX, SolidCAM, MasterCAM, CATIA will be an advantage
• Self-motivated and be able to handle projects independently with least assistance.
• Hands on expertise in CNC programming.
• Communication skill with good command in English (oral & Verbal) is preferred for this position

This role is responsible for providing runoff , Application support to key Customers in strategic segments like AEROSPACE , TRANSPORTATION, GEN. ENGG., RAILWAYS AND MACHINE TOOLS.

The role holder will perform the following activities

• .1. establish the proposed tools at customer site as committed.
• 2. Trouble shoot, failure analysis, process optimization
• b. record and share success stories in the form of play books and proven solutions.
• c. Agreement with customer and ensure complete satisfaction.
• d. Handover of projects to regional team to gain repeat business.
• e. Document process parameters and ensure value delivery.
• f. Share the report with CFT for horizontal deployment in similar customers and applications.
