Location: Pune
Job Summary
- Grow Kennametal India Ltd. (KIL) share in new and existing market segments.
- Identify new business opportunities and provide product and process solutions.
- Act as a regional resource to focus on new business opportunities through Process Optimization Services, CPR and Projects in the respective territory.
- Focus on high‑value opportunities, penetrate new product sales, train sales engineers and distributor sales engineers, conduct in‑plant seminars, create new leads through cold calling and close opportunities within defined time frames.
- Sell Kennametal products on technical grounds, making successful product‑process machining recommendations.
- Develop field sales engineer competencies related to new products through training and on‑job demonstration.
- Submit monthly reports and case studies as per the prescribed format to the Territory Manager.
- Support sales engineers in important projects or for solving problems requiring high technical expertise.
- Look for process re‑engineering at customer shop floors to retool up spindles with KIL tools.
- Drive sales growth in identified low‑share key accounts through POS, CPP, etc.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Grow the KIL share in the assigned segment through conversion and penetration, POS, projects, etc.; responsible for growth initiatives and application support.
- Grow KIL share in high‑potential, low‑share key accounts.
- Document TPR savings in INR for at least five customers.
- Identify opportunities for new projects and generate sales growth in the segment.
- Conduct one in‑plant seminar per month and one DSE level seminar per quarter.
- Deliver three process optimization services per quarter.
- Identify and drive new business opportunities in existing customers to achieve sales growth.
- Generate sales through new customers and new product sales through conversion, penetration and retention (CPR) actions.
Education, Work Experience and Skills
- Hold a Bachelor of Engineering degree or equivalent, specializing in Mechanical Engineering or Production Engineering.
- Minimum eight years of experience in cutting‑tool sales/application function or process engineering; machine programming experience an advantage.
- Sound knowledge of machining fundamentals, process design, process re‑engineering and fixturing fundamentals.
- Willingness to travel and meet customers in various geographic locations.
- Strong communication skills and good command of English (oral & verbal).
- 8–10 years of experience in the engineering industry.
- Self‑motivated, positive attitude and go‑getter mentality.
