Job summary

DXC Technology Inc. is seeking a software engineer with foundational skills in Unix/Linux, Java, and Oracle SQL to join our engineering team in Mumbai. You will collaborate with peers, troubleshoot issues, and engage in training programs to grow technically and professionally.

You will learn software development practices, contribute to design discussions, and help implement best practices while adapting to evolving technologies in a supportive, in-person work environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 1+ year of software engineering experience.
• Familiarity with at least one programming language and debugging.

Essential Job Functions

• Application support with Basis knowledge of Unix/Linux, Java, message queue, Oracle SQL.
• Collaborate with the team to meet project objectives.
• Participate in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues, seeking guidance and mentorship.
• Learn and adapt to software development practices and methodologies, actively participating in training programs.
• Contribute to the implementation of best practices and emerging technologies.
• Collaborate with team members to enhance your understanding of software architecture and design.
• Banking or SWIFT message processing knowledge will be advantage.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (i.e., Computer Science) or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Relevant experience, typically 1+ years of relevant software engineering experience
• Proficiency in 1 or more software languages and development methodologies
• Basic coding and debugging skills
• Effective communication and collaboration abilities
• Strong problem-solving mindset
• Willingness to learn and adapt to the field

Other Qualifications

• Advanced degree in a related field is a plus
• Relevant certifications or training a plus
