Job summary

Peppermint Robotics in India is seeking an Application Engineer to own robot deployment, configuration and customer enablement at assigned sites. You will map, configure and commission robots, train on-site teams, and coordinate with Technical Support and Site Service Engineers.

Ideal candidates hold a BE/B.Tech in Engineering and have 1–3 years in robotics or field deployment, with basic Linux/navigation knowledge.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electronics, Robotics, CS) or equivalent.
• 1–3 years of experience in robotics, automation, or field deployment roles.
• Working understanding of robot navigation, mapping, or mission-planning concepts is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Deployment & configuration: site mapping, path planning, mission creation, and robot configuration.
• Customer enablement: train and support customer teams, ensure on-site self-sufficiency, and documentation handover.
• Support coordination: work with Technical Support Engineers and Site Service Engineers, escalate issues, and ensure customer satisfaction.

Role Overview

The Application Engineer owns robot deployment, configuration, and customer enablement at assigned sites. This role ensures every robot is correctly mapped, configured, and commissioned, that the customer's on-site team is trained and self-sufficient, and that deployment issues are coordinated smoothly with Technical Support and Site Service Engineers.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electronics, Robotics, Computer Science, or equivalent)
• 1–3 years of experience in robotics, automation, or field engineering deployment roles; strong freshers with relevant project experience may also be considered
• Working understanding of robot navigation, mapping, or mission-planning concepts is an advantage

Skills & Competencies

• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Ability to read site layouts/floor plans and translate them into navigation maps
• Clear communication skills for training and enabling customer teams
• Working knowledge of robot software/hardware interfaces and configuration tools
• Basic working knowledge of Linux (command line navigation, file systems, service/process checks)
• Comfortable coordinating across L1 technicians, L3 support, and customer stakeholders
• Organized documentation habits for handover and knowledge continuity
• Willingness to travel to customer sites as required

Preferred Experience

• Experience in industrial automation, robotics, field service, maintenance, or technical support roles
• Exposure to autonomous mobile robots (AMRs), AGVs, or automation systems will be an added advantage
