Job summary

The Application Engineer at Peppermint Robotics owns robot deployment, configuration, and customer enablement at client sites. You will ensure every robot is correctly mapped, configured, and commissioned, and that the on-site team is trained to be self-sufficient.

You will coordinate deployment activities with Technical Support and Site Service Engineers, document handovers, and drive customer satisfaction through clear communication and thorough testing of systems.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electronics, Robotics, Computer Science, or equivalent).
  • 1–3 years of experience in robotics, automation, or field engineering deployment roles; strong freshers with relevant project experience may also be considered.
  • Working understanding of robot navigation, mapping, or mission-planning concepts is an advantage.

  • Site mapping, path planning, and mission creation during deployment.
  • Robot configuration and workflow understanding to ensure correct operation.
  • Train and enable customer teams; support customer site setup and handover documentation.

Role Overview

The Application Engineer owns robot deployment, configuration, and customer enablement at assigned sites. This role ensures every robot is correctly mapped, configured, and commissioned, that the customer's on-site team is trained and self-sufficient, and that deployment issues are coordinated smoothly with Technical Support and Site Service Engineers.

Skills & Competencies
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to read site layouts/floor plans and translate them into navigation maps
  • Clear communication skills for training and enabling customer teams
  • Working knowledge of robot software/hardware interfaces and configuration tools
  • Basic working knowledge of Linux (command line navigation, file systems, service/process checks)
  • Comfortable coordinating across L1 technicians, L3 support, and customer stakeholders
  • Organized documentation habits for handover and knowledge continuity
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites as required
Preferred Experience
  • Experience in industrial automation, robotics, field service, maintenance, or technical support roles
  • Exposure to autonomous mobile robots (AMRs), AGVs, or automation systems will be an added advantage
