Job summary

Softcon Systems in Pune is seeking an Application Engineer with 2-3 years of experience in software development for printing, filling, and packaging machines in the food and pharma sectors. You will study client needs, help size BOMs, and tailor solutions accordingly.

You will provide technical support, conduct in-house testing of the developed software, and assist in product development. You should be ready to travel regionally and own projects from concept to delivery.

Qualifications

• BE / Diploma in Electrical/Electronics/ E & TC, instrumentation
• 2-3 years of application engineering experience
• Experience in software development for printing, filling, packaging machines in food & pharma
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Willing to travel across the region and take ownership of projects

Responsibilities

• Study machine developments with clients; size BOM and share with sales/project team
• Provide technical support and tailor products to client needs
• Conduct in-house testing of developed software and assist product development
• Gather customer information and develop motion/PLC profiles to fit needs
• Document solutions implemented at site and present optimized solutions
• Solve technical issues under guidance of Application manager/Director
• Collaborate with team to ensure smooth functioning and learning
• Assist sales in acquiring new customers based on proven footprints

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Study of machine/ new developments in consultation with the client, Sizing and selections of the required BOM and share with the sales/project team.
• Provide technical support, tailoring the products to client needs, conduct in house testing of the developed software, and assisting in product developments as and when needed.
• Gather as much information from customers and develop the required motion cum PLC profile that best suits their need
• Documenting the solutions executed at site.
• Present optimized solutions to client as and when needed.
• Able to solve technical issues under guidance of Application manager/ Director.
• Interpersonal skills to be able to work with and lead the team ensuring continuous learning and smooth functioning.
• Problem solving skills to ensure any issues that arise during commissioning and testing processes are addressed and fixed. Assist the sales team in acquiring new customers in reference to proven foot prints.

Work Experience Requirements

• Minimum 2-3 years of relevant application experience.
• Experience in the field of software development for Printing machines, filling machines, Packaging machines in food & pharma. Motion based solutions done in Automotive, Textile and steel industries.
• Good verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
• Must be able to work efficiently and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
• Willing to travel across the region as and when required. Takes full ownership and responsibilities of their projects.
