Job summary

Amazon Bangalore is seeking an Application Engineer III for ABPX to troubleshoot and resolve production software issues, develop automation tools, and contribute to monitoring and operational readiness. You will work across Ruby, Rails, Java, Python, Bash, and AWS in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

The role emphasizes ownership of components, on-call support, and delivering fixes through code or configurations, with opportunities to grow in a global payments platform team.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of software development, or 3+ years of technical support experience.
• Experience troubleshooting and debugging technical systems.
• Experience in development or technical support.
• Experience scripting in one or more language (e.g. Bash, Python, Perl, Ruby)

Responsibilities

• Provide support of incoming tickets, including extensive troubleshooting tasks, with responsibilities covering multiple products, features and services.
• Work on operations and maintenance driven coding projects, primarily in Ruby, Rails, Java, Python, or shell scripts, AWS, web technologies projects.
• Software deployment support in staging and production environments.
• Develop GenAI tools to aid operations and maintenance.
• System and Support status reporting.
• Ownership of one or more application or components.
• Troubleshooting & Mitigating Service Level issues, Fixing and automating the manual process and providing the resolution to customer issues related to Services either provide the resolution by fixing the issue through config or code change.

Key job responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include troubleshooting, diagnosing and fixing production software issues, developing tools, automation and monitoring solutions, performing software maintenance and configuration, implementing the fix for internally developed code (JAVA and Ruby with Rails), updating, tracking and resolving technical challenges and improving operational excellence and readiness of the systems.

• Work with Dev team for handing-off or taking over active support & development issues and creating a team specific knowledge base and skill set

About the team

ABPX Support Engineering Team manages three different charters such as Amazon Business Payments, Invoicing and Lending Charters.

Basic Qualifications

• - 3+ years of software development, or 3+ years of technical support experience
• - Experience troubleshooting and debugging technical systems
• - Experience in development or technical support
• - Experience scripting in one or more language (e.g. Bash, Python, Perl, Ruby)

Preferred Qualifications

• - Knowledge of web services, distributed systems, and web application development
