Job summary

Johnson Controls in Mumbai is seeking a Fire & Security Systems Design Engineer to design Fire Alarm, Access Control, CCTV, and related systems per account standards. You will work with customers to ensure your designs meet specifications, budgets, and schedules.

The role requires 3–8 years in fire & security design, strong knowledge of fire codes, and proficiency in AutoCAD. NICET/BS 5839 certifications are a plus, with goals to deliver high-quality, compliant engineering solutions.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Carry out hardware detail design, engineering, battery calculations and voltage drop calculations.
• Develop project standards and templates for complex systems.
• Ensure deliverables meet customer functional specifications and quality documents.
• Apply established standards and QMS procedures to the project work.
• Monitor scope against plan and manage change control and risks.

Overview

What you will do This position is responsible to design Fire & security systems like Fire Alarm, Access Control, Intruder Alarm, and CCTV per respective account standards.

Responsibilities

• Should have strong domain knowledge of Fire & Security System engineering.
• Should have global customer facing experience.
• Works independently & is fully proficient in applying established standards/practices.
• Act as interface to customers and is responsible to ensure that projects are executed within agreed schedule and budget to meet the customer technical specification requirements.
• Carry out Hardware Detail Design, Engineering and Application Development, Battery Calculations, Voltage drops calculations etc. independently.
• Develop Typical / Templates for Complex systems and develop project specific standards.
• Read, understand Control Narratives, Logic diagrams, Io Matrix, etc.
• Monitor and control assigned work scope against the project plan, ensure effective change control, and identify risks / opportunities.
• Ensure the proposed engineered solution meets project requirements in terms of functionality, standards, quality, and supporting documentation.
• Ensure group work is in compliance with QMS procedures.
• Identify possible improvement opportunities and manage their implementation.
• Ensure common methods, techniques, tools, and products are effectively applied and provide feedback for future improvement.
• Ensure the implementation of application is reviewed with respect to project standards and quality documents.
• Ensure that the final deliverable meets the functional specifications of the customer by performing quality checks.
• Use engineering tools to optimize engineering man‑hours and improve productivity & quality.

Qualifications
