Job summary

Hitachi Energy in Bengaluru, India, seeks an experienced protection relays engineer to ensure efficient operations and strengthen governance. You will coordinate relay settings for HV systems, validate IED configurations, and support sales with technical solutions throughout early stages.

The role requires 3–5 years in testing/commissioning of line, transformer, busbar, generator protections and familiarity with protection panels, IEC61850 and Modbus protocols.

Qualifications

• BE/B.Tech in Electrical & Electronics Engineering (3–5 years experience)
• Experience testing and commissioning relays and Substation Automation System
• Familiar with control and relay panels schematic drawings
• Experience with IED configuration tools: PCM600, DIGSI, Agile S1 Studio, Easergy Studio, EnerVista
• Knowledge of IEC61850, Modbus; strong English skills

Responsibilities

• Coordinate relay settings for HV lines, transformers, busbars and generator protections.
• Validate IED configurations and perform application checks.
• Work with Wavein or Sigra for fault analysis.
• Provide technical solution/support to sales teams in early sales stages.
• Influence specifications for RFQs, proofs of concept, homologation and solution designs.
• Collaborate with global, HUB and local teams for technical enablement on products.
• Impart training on protections to internal and external customers.
• Ensure compliance with external and internal regulations and guidelines.

Your responsibilities:

• Worked with calculation and co-ordination of relay settings for HV Line, Transformer, Busbar, and Generator protection.


• Validation of IED configuration and do application checks for functions.


• Worked with Wavein or Sigra for fault analysis.


• You provide technical solution/product support to sales teams during the earlystages of the sales process.


• You drive key activities such as specification influence prior to requests for proposals, proof of concepts, homologation, andsolution designs to solve customer pain points.


• You work closely with respective counterparts within the global, HUB and local organizations to ensure continuous technicalenablement and education on the latest product and solution offering.


• Should impart training to internal and external customers on Protections.


• Responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your background:

• BE/B.Tech - Electrical and Electronics Engineering with 3-5 years of relevant experience.


• Work experience in Testing and Commissioning of Line, Transformer, Busbar, Generator protection relays and Substation Automation System.


• Should have been well versed with control and relay panels schematic drawings.


• Should have worked on IEDs configuration tools like PCM600, DIGSI, Agile S1 Studio, Easergy Studio, EnerVista, etc.


• Should have worked with Wavein or Sigra for fault analysis.


• Should have working knowledge of protocols such as IEC61850, Modbus, etc.,


• Proficiency in both spoken and written English is required.
