You will handle administration tasks, optimize SQL queries, and ensure database performance. The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of experience in database administration with strong SQL skills. This position is on a contract basis.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced DB2 Database Administrator (LUW) with strong SQL expertise to support database development and administration activities.

Responsibilities

• Perform DB2 LUW database administration including installation, configuration, upgrades, backup, and recovery.
• Develop and optimize SQL queries, procedures, and functions.
• Monitor database performance and perform troubleshooting to ensure high availability.
• Manage user access, roles, and security settings in DB2.
• Handle incident management, problem resolution, and root cause analysis.
• Support automation of DBA tasks using shell scripts (preferred).
• Work in coordination with application and infrastructure teams for smooth database operations.

Profile Requirements

• 3–5 years of hands-on experience as a DB2 LUW DBA.
• Strong SQL development and administration background.
• Good understanding of database performance tuning and query optimization.
• Exposure to shell scripting for database automation will be an added advantage.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
