Job summary

Amazon is hiring an Appeals Specialist on a contractual (seasonal) basis in India. As part of the HR organization, you will handle confidential information and support the appeals journey for employees and alumni, applying policy knowledge and strong analytical skills.

You will review documentation, assess accuracy, identify process gaps, and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment to deliver high-quality service.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of HR/HR shared service center experience.
• MS Office proficiency (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote).
• Experience handling confidential information and dealing with senior executives.

As a member of the HR organization, you will handle confidential and sensitive information, as well as demonstrate strong integrity and ethical behaviors. You will use your strong analytical and critical-thinking skills to bring about continuous improvement on a daily basis; put your exceptional customer service, communication, organizational skills, superior attention to detail and ability to prioritize to work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing HR environment.

Key job responsibilities

• Utilize your deep diving skills and Amazon policy expertise to identify required documentation for appeal cases.
• Assess documentation for accuracy and past precedent.
• Identify any process defects and recommended remediation.
• Review information which contributed to the disciplinary action impacting the employee. Use your investigative skills to determine if policy was applied properly and consistently based on evidence and employee/witness statements.

Basic Qualifications

• 3+ years of HR/HR shared service center experience
• Experience with computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), or experience with Microsoft office tools like Word, Excel, Outlook, and OneNote
• Experience dealing effectively with customers during problem resolution and operating efficiently under pressure
• Experience handling confidential information and maintaining professionalism in dealing with senior executives, or experience with Microsoft Office products and applications
• Experience working in fast paced environments, and managing workload even during times of stress, or escalated activity
• Experience working with customers with a passion for delivering exceptional service, or experience that includes strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities

Preferred Qualifications

• 4+ years of HR/HR shared service center experience
• Experience that includes strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities, or experience in Database like NoSQL and experience in Hive/Spark/Hbase/Yarn
• Experience with HR processes and systems
• Experience that includes strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities
• Experience working with speech and text language data in multiple languages
