Qualifications

• 5+ years of IT/software development experience.
• 2+ years hands-on Apigee Edge/Apigee X experience.
• Strong RESTful API development and management skills.
• Experience with OpenAPI, Swagger, YAML, JSON, XML, SOAP.
• API security with OAuth 2.0, JWT, API Keys, Basic Auth.
• Mediation, security, caching, and traffic management in Apigee.
• Troubleshooting API performance and integration issues.
• Understanding of microservices and API-led integration.
• Git, CI/CD, and DevOps practices.

Role Summary

We are seeking a skilled Apigee Developer with 5+ years of overall IT experience and strong expertise in API development, API management, and integration solutions using Apigee. The ideal candidate should have hands‑on experience in designing, securing, deploying, and managing enterprise-scale APIs while ensuring high performance, scalability, and security.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop API specifications using OpenAPI (Swagger), YAML, and JSON standards.
• Build, deploy, and maintain API proxies using Apigee Edge/Apigee X.
• Implement API management capabilities including authentication, authorization, traffic management, caching, monitoring, and analytics.
• Configure Apigee policies such as:
  • OAuth 2.0
  • API Key Validation
  • Basic Authentication
  • Spike Arrest
  • Quota Management
  • Cache Management
  • Message Transformation and Mediation
  • Threat Protection
• Publish, document, and maintain APIs through the Apigee Developer Portal.
• Develop reusable API frameworks, coding standards, governance practices, and best‑in‑class development methodologies.
• Integrate APIs with enterprise applications, microservices, and third‑party platforms.
• Monitor API performance and troubleshoot API failures using Apigee Analytics and debugging tools.
• Collaborate with architecture, security, DevOps, and application teams to deliver robust API solutions.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, code reviews, release planning, and production support activities.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of overall IT/software development experience.
• Minimum 2+ years of hands‑on experience in Apigee Edge/Apigee X.
• Strong expertise in developing and managing RESTful APIs.
• Experience with OpenAPI Specifications (Swagger), YAML, JSON, XML, SOAP, and REST Web Services.
• Hands‑on experience with API security implementation, including OAuth 2.0, JWT, API Keys, and Basic Authentication.
• Experience configuring mediation, security, caching, and traffic management policies in Apigee.
• Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills for API performance and integration issues.
• Understanding of Microservices Architecture and API‑led integration patterns.
• Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices.

Preferred Skills

• Exposure to Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Knowledge of API Governance and API Lifecycle Management.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and Microservices environments.
• Banking, Financial Services, or FinTech domain experience.
• Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools.

Educational Qualification

• B.E./B.Tech/MCA or equivalent qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
