EY seeks an APIGEE API Architect Developer in Pune with 10–12 years of experience to own API architecture, governance, and lifecycle across Apigee-based platforms. Qualifications

• 10–12 years of API architecture, integration platforms, and enterprise API governance.
• Hands-on experience with Apigee Edge/Apigee X and API gateway implementation.
• Strong RESTful API design, API-first principles, domain-driven API modeling, versioning, and lifecycle management.
• Proficiency in OAuth2, JWT, mTLS, API keys, and token-based authentication.
• Experience with API proxies, policies, traffic management, quotas, and caching.
• Experience with analytics, monitoring, debugging, and performance optimization using Apigee.
• Experience integrating APIs with backend microservices, legacy systems, and distributed architectures.
• Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and cloud-native networking, IAM, VPC, load balancing.
• Familiarity with OpenAPI/Swagger, contract-first development, and API documentation practices.
• Exposure to API monetization, developer portal management, and partner onboarding workflows.
• Strong understanding of CI/CD, automated testing, and API deployment pipelines.
• Familiarity with event-driven integrations and messaging systems.
• Understanding of networking fundamentals including VPC, Subnets, Security Groups, and load balancers.
• Experience with Nexus, Artifactory for artifact/dependency management.
• Preferred: Domain experience in General Insurance (Health, Motor, Travel, Home).

Responsibilities

• Enable API monetization, analytics, traffic management, and developer experience through platform engineering.
• Collaborate with product, business, backend, frontend, and security teams to define integration patterns for internal, partner, and external consumers.
• Lead transformation initiatives including migration from legacy integrations to modern API-led connectivity.
• Oversee scalability planning, performance tuning, incident management, and production stabilization for API platforms.
• Mentor engineering teams on API design, Apigee capabilities, platform best practices, and architectural thinking.

Education

Required Experience & Skills

• 10 to 12 years of strong experience in API architecture, integration platforms, and enterprise API governance.
• Deep handson experience with Apigee Edge / Apigee X, API gateway implementation, advanced policies, shared flows, flow hooks, and lifecycle governance.
• Strong expertise in RESTful API design, APIfirst principles, domaindriven API modeling, versioning, and lifecycle management.
• Solid knowledge of API security frameworks including OAuth2, JWT, mTLS, API keys, and tokenbased authentication.
• Experience with API proxies, policies, traffic management, quota enforcement, and caching strategies.
• Proficiency in API analytics, monitoring, debugging, and performance optimization using Apigee and related tools.
