Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services is seeking API & Integration Developers with 6+ years of experience for roles across multiple Indian locations including Hyderabad. You will design and implement Apigee-based solutions, manage proxy development, and ensure secure, scalable API platforms in cloud environments.

The role emphasizes hands-on API management, Google Cloud Platform knowledge, and strong collaboration with client architects and engineers to deliver end-to-end API integration projects.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of application design and development in a cloud environment.
• 6+ years experience with Apigee API Gateway (OPDK/SaaS/Hybrid) and Proxy Development.
• 2+ years coding REST services using Java, JSON, Python.
• Hands on Apigee API Management, SOAPXML, JSON, NGINX and cloud technologies.
• Experience in Google Cloud Platform Apigee EDGE and SDLC processes.
• Hands on experience in UI and web services development.
• Experience with Apigee traffic management and proxy migrations.
• Hands on experience in Apigee configurations, management and testing.
• Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub) for Apigee deployment automation.
• Security setup including OAuth 2.0, TLS, certificates and KeyStore.

Responsibilities

• Lead Apigee architecture design with customer architects and cloud engineers.
• Create proxy flows, templates, security setup and automate proxy migrations and OAS imports.
• Develop and customize the Developer portal as needed.
• Configure Analytics and Monitoring capabilities of Apigee.
• Provide conceptual solutions for Apigee opportunities.
• Participate in discussions on APIGEE connectivity, security and foundation.
• Set up and manage CI/CD pipelines for Apigee deployments and testing.
• Provide Pre-Sales support for Apigee opportunities.
• Engage with clients to understand existing systems and propose recommendations.
• Draft Architectural Decisions and solution blueprints to meet requirements.
• Prepare training materials for smooth system transitions.
• Lead technical discussions with customer SMEs for differentiation.
• Review design frameworks to meet functional and non-functional requirements and architecture alignment.
• Mentor team members on complex coding and product issues.

Must have skills

• 6+ years of application design and development experience in a cloud environment
• 6+ years experience of working on Apigee API Gateway for both Apigee Blueprint/Foundation set up, Apigee installation (OPDK/SaaS/Hybrid) and Proxy Development
• 2+ years of coding REST services and API such as: Java, JSON, Python.
• Hands on experience in Apigee API Management, SOAPXML, JSON, NGINX and Cloud technologies like Google Cloud platform or any similar cloud service.
• Experience in Google Cloud Platforms Apigee platform and API development experience through the entire Software Development Lifecycle Process.
• Hands on experience in user interface and web services development.
• Implementation and delivery experience in Google Cloud Platform Apigee EDGE solution.
• Experience in managing Apigee traffic for cutting over from another API Gateway
• Hands on experience in Apigee Configurations, Management and APIGEE testing.
• Experience with CI/CD Tools (Jenkins, GitHub) for Apigee proxies deployment automation.
• Ability to apply security, throttling, OAuth 2.0, TLS, certificates, KeyStore, and Trust store for the Apigee platform
• Hands-on development expertise with the Google Apigee Edge platform including but not limited to installation and configuration
• Experience of analysing API traffic, API performance, API issue diagnosis
• Experience in setting up KPIs, alerts and notification to avoid potential issues due to bots, security, latency and data errors and resolve incidents quickly

Good to have skills

• Knowledge of IBM Software AG /WebMethods, IBM Data Power
• Knowledge of APIGEE Microservice Gateways and Istio Service Mesh
• Knowledge of how to set up Analytics and Reporting on Apigee
• Knowledge of integrating Apigee with incident management, monitoring and logging tools like Splunk, Remedy, ELK, etc.

Key responsibilities

• Work on APIGEE Implementation projects in the capacity to lead on design Apigee architecture along with customer architects and network/cloud engineers
• Creation of proxy flows, templates, security set up and automation of processes like migration of proxies, importing OAS docs, etc.
• Developer portal set up and customisation on need basis
• Configuration of Analytics and Monitoring capabilities of Apigee
• Providing conceptual solutions for APIGEE opportunities
• Participate in discussion on APIGEE options for connectivity, security and foundation
• Set up and work with CI/CD pipelines for Apigee proxy deployments and testing
• Pre-Sales support for detailing of APIGEE related opportunities
• Interact with Client to understand the existing system and expectation and propose the recommendations.
• Creates, consult and reviews Architectural Decisions, architecture solution, performs re-engineering of Architectures to create solution blueprint and meet project requirement.
• Prepare training material if required; to ensure a smooth transition in the new system process for the users
• Leads technical discussions with customer SME and stakeholders to provide technical differentiation in the relationship.
• Evaluates and Reviews Design Frameworks and Methodologies and approves design to achieve functional and non-functional requirements and conformance to the architecture
• Ensure alignment with overall architecture view, creates develops reference codes, provides consultation to team members on complex coding and technical product issues to ensure effective solution development
• Set up Monitoring KPIs and Alerting notifications for APIs based on API traffic, latency, security, errors, etc
