Job summary

AQM Technologies in Mumbai is seeking an experienced API Test Engineer to validate trading APIs and FIX connectivity. You will perform manual API testing across order management and market connectivity, and ensure reliable FIX protocol workflows. Strong scripting in Python will support test automation, with close collaboration to resolve defects.

Experience in capital markets and equity/derivatives trading is essential. Excellent analytical and communication skills are required for this role.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Validate TCP/IP socket-based equity/derivatives trading APIs.
• Perform manual API testing for order management and market connectivity using FIX.
• Test FIX workflows: Logon, Order Entry, Order Modify, Order Cancel, Trade Confirm, Logout.
• Validate Heartbeat, Keep Alive, Sequence Numbers and Session Management.
• Analyze network packets with Wireshark or similar tools.
• Develop Python scripts for API validation and test automation support.
• Prepare detailed test cases, scenarios and traceability from API specs.
• Validate API endpoints, payloads, response codes and headers.
• Perform functional, regression and stress testing; collaborate with devs and business teams.

We are looking for an experienced API Test Engineer with strong expertise in Manual API Testing, FIX Protocol, and Capital Markets. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience testing trading APIs, validating FIX connectivity, and working with Equity and Derivatives trading systems.

Role & responsibilities :

• Validate TCP/IP Socket-based proprietary Equity and Derivatives Trading APIs.
• Perform Manual API Testing for Order Management and Market Connectivity using FIX Protocol.
• Test FIX API workflows including:
  • Logon
  • Order Entry
  • Order Modify
  • Order Cancel
  • Trade Confirmation
  • Logout
• Validate Heartbeat, Keep Alive, Sequence Numbers and Session Management.
• Analyze network packets using Wireshark, Packet Sender or similar tools.
• Develop Python scripts for API validation and test automation support.
• Prepare detailed Test Cases, Test Scenarios and Traceability Matrix from API specifications.
• Validate API Endpoints, Payloads, Response Codes and Headers.
• Perform Functional, Regression and Stress Testing of APIs.
• Work closely with Developers and Business Teams to identify and resolve defects.
• Ensure high quality and reliability of trading applications.
