Job summary

Atharva Infotech Pvt. Ltd. in Mumbai or Pune is seeking an API Support Engineer. You will monitor APIs, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate resolutions with clients, suppliers and third-party providers to keep production systems stable.

You will work with Development, QA, Product, Database and Infrastructure teams, perform log and SQL analysis, and communicate technical updates during incidents. Travel/OTA API experience is a plus.

Qualifications

Job Summary: We are looking for an API Support Engineer responsible for monitoring, troubleshooting, and supporting APIs and system integrations with clients, suppliers, and third-party service providers.

The candidate will work closely with the Development, QA, Product, Database, and Infrastructure teams to identify API issues, analyze technical problems, coordinate resolutions, and ensure stable operation of production systems.

Experience in Travel / OTA / Hotel Booking / APIs will be an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities

• 1. API Monitoring & Support Monitor API performance, availability, response time, error rates, and transaction failures. Monitor production APIs and identify abnormal behavior or service interruptions. Investigate API failures, timeouts, slow responses, incorrect responses, and connectivity issues. Ensure critical API issues are identified and escalated promptly. Perform regular health checks of APIs and integrations.
• 2. API Troubleshooting Analyze API requests and responses to identify the root cause of issues. Troubleshoot REST APIs, JSON, XML, HTTP/HTTPS, authentication, headers, parameters, and response codes. Check request/response logs and application logs. Identify whether an issue is related to the client, supplier, application, database, network, or infrastructure. Coordinate with development teams for code-level issues. Coordinate with suppliers/third parties for external API issues.
• 5. Logs & Database Analysis Analyze application and API logs to identify errors and transaction failures. Perform basic SQL queries to investigate transaction and booking-related issues. Verify data consistency between API responses, application databases, and supplier systems. Work with senior developers/DBAs for complex database-related issues. Communicate with clients and suppliers regarding API connectivity and transaction issues. Collect complete technical information before escalating an issue. Share request/response details, timestamps, booking references, error messages, and relevant logs with the concerned team. Follow up with external suppliers until the issue is resolved. Provide clear technical updates to internal teams and clients. Prioritize incidents based on business impact and severity. Immediately escalation major issues affecting bookings, revenue, API availability, or multiple clients. Maintain incident timelines and resolution details. Perform basic root-cause analysis and prepare incident reports for major issues. Identify recurring problems and recommend permanent solutions.

Required Technical Skills.

• Good understanding of REST APIs and API integration.
• Strong knowledge of JSON and XML.
• Understanding of HTTP/HTTPS and HTTP status codes.
• Experience with Postman / Swagger.
• Basic to good knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
• Ability to analyze application and API logs.
