Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality undergraduate teaching in Medical Surgical Nursing and related areas of adult health nursing.
- Plan and conduct lectures, tutorials, practical sessions, seminars, case discussions, demonstrations, and simulation-based learning.
- Teach students the principles of comprehensive nursing care for patients with medical and surgical conditions.
- Develop students' competence in patient assessment, nursing diagnosis, care planning, implementation, evaluation, documentation, and discharge planning.
- Integrate clinical cases and real-world scenarios to strengthen clinical reasoning and decision-making abilities.
- Supervise and guide students during hospital postings, clinical rotations, internships, and other experiential learning activities.
- Help students develop competency in caring for patients across medical, surgical, emergency, and specialty care settings.
- Strengthen students' understanding of systems such as cardiovascular, respiratory, neurological, GI, renal, endocrine, MSK, and others.
- Facilitate learning related to perioperative nursing, emergency care, infection prevention, pain management, rehabilitation, and patient safety.
- Use simulation, digital clinical resources, case-based learning, virtual tools, and AI-enabled technologies to enhance learning.
- Develop and update lesson plans, teaching materials, case studies, and competency-based assessments.
- Mentor students in academic progress, clinical performance, research activities, internships, and career development.
- Identify learning gaps and provide appropriate academic and clinical support.
- Conduct internal assessments, practical exams, clinical evaluations, viva voce, and other assessments.
