Position Overview

JKKN College of Nursing invites applications for the position of Tutor – Nursing.

The Tutor will support the academic, clinical, and professional development of nursing students by facilitating effective learning, strengthening fundamental nursing competencies, assisting with practical and clinical training, and providing continuous student guidance.

The role is particularly suited to a nursing professional who combines sound clinical knowledge, enthusiasm for teaching, strong interpersonal skills, digital adaptability, and a willingness to work in an AI-enabled educational environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Facilitate classroom, practical, demonstration, laboratory, and skill-based learning activities for nursing students.

• Assist faculty members in delivering the prescribed nursing curriculum effectively and engagingly.

• Strengthen students' understanding of fundamental nursing concepts and their application in clinical settings.

• Conduct demonstrations and supervised practice of essential nursing procedures and clinical skills.

• Support students during clinical postings, hospital rotations, community health activities, internships, and other experiential learning programmes.

• Observe and monitor students' clinical performance and provide timely, constructive feedback.

• Help students develop competence in patient assessment, nursing procedures, documentation, communication, infection prevention, patient safety, and professional conduct.

• Mentor students in academic performance, clinical competency, discipline, communication, teamwork, and professional development.

• Assist in preparing lesson plans, learning materials, assignments, practical records, assessments, and other academic resources.

• Use AI-enabled educational tools and digital learning resources to supplement conventional teaching and help students access, organize, and understand academic information.

• Encourage students to use AI responsibly for learning, literature exploration, academic preparation, and professional development, while emphasizing originality, verification, confidentiality, and ethical use.

• Support the use of simulation, digital resources, multimedia learning, and technology-enabled teaching methods to improve students' practical understanding.

• Assist in student assessments, practical examinations, clinical evaluations, internal assessments, and competency-based evaluation.

• Identify students who require additional academic or clinical support and work with faculty members to provide appropriate interventions.

• Encourage students to develop critical thinking, clinical reasoning, problem-solving, communication, teamwork, and evidence-based nursing practice.

• Participate in seminars, workshops, health awareness programmes, community outreach activities, student development programmes, and nursing-related events.

• Assist in maintaining nursing laboratories, simulation facilities, clinical records, equipment, and academic documentation.

• Coordinate effectively with faculty members, clinical instructors, hospital staff, and other healthcare professionals involved in student training.

• Participate in departmental meetings, academic planning, quality initiatives, accreditation-related activities, and institutional programmes.

• Contribute to continuous improvement of teaching and student-learning practices through feedback, innovation, and appropriate use of technology.

• Maintain high standards of professional ethics, patient confidentiality, safety, dignity, infection control, and responsible nursing practice.

Educational Qualification

• B.Sc. Nursing from a recognized institution.

• Valid registration with the appropriate State Nursing Council / Indian Nursing Council, as applicable.

• Candidates with M.Sc. Nursing may be considered in accordance with applicable regulatory and institutional requirements.

Experience

• Relevant experience in nursing education, clinical practice, hospital services, or student supervision will be preferred.

• Candidates should have practical knowledge of nursing procedures and the ability to guide students in both theoretical and clinical learning.

• Experience in a teaching or tutoring role will be an added advantage.

• Fresh B.Sc. Nursing graduates with strong academic performance, clinical competency, communication skills, and a demonstrated interest in teaching may be considered based on institutional requirements.
