Job summary

Infosys is seeking an experienced automation engineer to design, develop, and maintain Ansible-based solutions across Linux environments.

You will build playbooks and roles, write YAML templates, and integrate REST APIs while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable infrastructure.

The role emphasizes problem solving, automation efficiency, and secure operations in a fast-paced IT setting.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience with Ansible.
• Good knowledge of Linux/Unix administration.
• Experience with YAML, Jinja2 templating, and Git
• Understanding of REST APIs and integrations
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, etc.)
• Basic scripting knowledge (Python/Bash/PowerShell)

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automation solutions using Ansible Automation Platform for provisioning, configuration, and deployment across Linux environments.
• Develop and enhance Shell/Bash scripts to automate routine tasks, improve system efficiency, and reduce manual intervention.
• Troubleshoot and optimize automation workflows, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and ensure stable, scalable infrastructure operations.

Job description

Primary Focus: Implementation & Execution

• ansible-core / Ansible CLI – Execute playbooks, ad hoc commands, and manage inventories.
• Ansible Playbooks & Roles – Develop and maintain basic playbooks and reusable roles.
• Ansible Galaxy – Consume and customize community roles and collections.
• YAML & Jinja2 – Write task definitions, templates, and variable structures.
• Git (GitHub / GitLab / Bitbucket) – Version control for playbooks and documentation.

Required Skills

• Strong hands‑on experience with Ansible
• Good knowledge of Linux/Unix administration
