We are looking for an inquisitive, motivated, and agile Android Engineer to join our banking revolution, who possesses a passion for pushing mobile technologies to the limits. You will work with our team of talented engineers to design and build the next generation of our mobile applications. Your primary focus will be developing Android applications and integrating them with backend services. About the Role:

• Contract role for 3-4 months
• Translate designs and wireframes into high-quality code
• Design, build, and maintain high-performance, reusable, and reliable Java and Kotlin code
• Ensure optimal performance, quality, and responsiveness of the application
• Identify and fix bottlenecks and bugs
• Maintain code quality, organization, and automation

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience developing Android applications in Kotlin and Java
• Strong conceptual understanding of Kotlin
• Experience publishing Android apps on Google Play Store
• Deep understanding of Android design principles, interface guidelines, and best practices
• Experience with MVVM, Clean Architecture
• Experience creating custom UI controls, designing protocols, implementing delegate interfaces
• Understanding of fragments, XML layouts, and creating adaptive interfaces for multiple device form factors
• Experience with dependency injection frameworks like Koin, Hilt
• Experience with multi-threaded programming, Coroutines, Flow, observers
• Experience with KTOR network client library
• Knowledge of data security practices at rest and in transit (cert-pinning, keychain storage, encryption)
• Experience tuning performance and memory of complex apps
• Ability to work well with teams, including distributed teams
• Experience with Git and CI/CD pipelines
• Experience writing unit and UI tests
• Familiarity with Android Jetpack components, Navigation Graph, WorkManager, Paging
• Understanding of Kotlin Multiplatform project structure and release platform considerations
• Experience with Kotlin Multiplatform development and interoperability across platforms

Success Metrics:

• Deliver features within reasonable timelines
• Deliver features that work across various cases and devices with minimal breakage
• Address non-functional requirements: performance, security, testing

Nice to Have:

• Experience in a product company
• GraphQL experience
• Showcase 2 live applications on App Store or Play Store, including enterprise or consumer apps with over 20k users
• Experience with Github Actions for CI/CD
• Knowledge of SSL pinning
• Experience with Mockito, JUnit, Espresso
• Familiarity with Jetpack Compose
