Job summary

mpokket Financial Services Private Limited is seeking an experienced Android Engineer to own and deliver high-quality Android apps using Java/Kotlin. You will lead design, planning and estimation with cross-functional teams, and drive CI/CD and automated testing initiatives to improve SDLC and performance.

The role requires 4+ years of Android development, strong knowledge of the Android SDK, design patterns, RESTful services, and modern architectures (MVVM/MVP).

Qualifications

• Ownership and delivery on a variety of components (Java/Kotlin) while developing highquality, state-of-the-art Android apps


• Provide technical leadership for an agile development team, championing best practices inContinuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD). Foster a culture of qualitythrough developer-led automated testing initiatives. Drive continuous improvement in SDLCand agile processes using key performance indicators to enhance team efficiency andsoftware delivery.


• Lead design, planning and estimation discussions within the team and with partners fromacross the department along with business stakeholders.


• Conduct high-level system analysis and architecture design, ensuring alignment withbusiness requirements, technical standards and the overall architecture blueprint.


• Facilitate requirement gathering and translate complex business needs into technicalspecifications.


• Oversee the creation and maintenance of project and technical documentation.


• Identify and mitigate risks throughout the SDLC, proposing solutions to complex problems.


• Utilize advanced knowledge of system flow and develop and maintain standards for coding,automated unit testing, debugging, and implementation.


• Oversee production support processes, collaborating with operations and businessstakeholders. Analyze issue patterns to drive improvements. Guide documentation efforts,maintain on-call rotations and lead post-mortems. Lead efforts to resolve root-causes andenhance performance, scalability, and reliability.


• Provide technical leadership and serve as advisor or coach to mid-level developers,analysts and grads.


• Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of the applications

Qualifications/Requirements:

• 4+ years of experience in Android Development using Java/Kotlin


• Strong knowledge of Android SDK, Android flavors and Android ecosystem


• Strong command over Android design principles, platform's advantages & limitations.


• Strong knowledge of design patterns


• Experience with consuming RESTful web services


• Should have knowledge on Data structures and algorithms


• Knowledge in XML, JSON


• Design patterns such as MVC, MVP, MVVM.


• Knowledge of App/Client side configuration management systems like Firebase


• Experience in 3rd Party integration design with Android App


• Strong command to drive success by improving key app quality components, userexperience and performance


• Experience with the latest development paradigms like functional and reactiveprogramming


• Experience with system design and tech stack upgrade to build highly available, secure,maintainable,


• performing, and scalable applications.


• Has a good understanding of software architecture, scalable data intensive architecture,and how to work in a team effectively.


• Knowledge on machine learning topics relevant to Fintech and operationalizing theend-to-end stack will be a plus.


• Possess excellent communication, sharp analytical abilities with proven design skills, ableto think critically of the current system in terms of growth and stability & Extensiveexperience in Finance-related technology.
