Job summary

KPIT is seeking an experienced Android Framework Developer to customize and extend the Android platform for embedded and automotive/consumer electronics products. The role centers on AOSP framework components, HAL integration, and middleware services within a Linux-based environment.

You will work across cross-functional teams to ensure feature integration, performance optimization, and robust debugging of Android system architecture.

Qualifications

Key Responsibilities

Develop and customize Android Framework components within AOSP.

Work on Android HAL layer integration and customization.

Develop and maintain Middleware services and native system components.

Debug and resolve issues related to Android system architecture.

Integrate device drivers and communicate with kernel teams.

Optimize Android platform performance, boot time, and memory usage.

Work on Android services, Binder IPC, HIDL/AIDL interfaces.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams for feature integration and issue resolution.

Participate in code reviews and follow software development best practices.

Required Skills

Strong experience in Android AOSP Framework development.

Hands-on experience in Android HAL and Middleware development.

Good knowledge of Android architecture and system internals.

Experience with Java and C/C++ programming.

Strong understanding of Linux and Embedded systems.

Knowledge of Binder, HIDL, AIDL, JNI, and IPC mechanisms.

Experience in Android build system and debugging tools.
