Job description

The Analyst - Treasury PC role focuses on overseeing the financial aspects of trading activities. The position supports the accuracy and integrity of the bank’s trading book, ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, and provides insights into trading performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Reconcile daily profit and loss (P&L) figures for trading desks, ensuring alignment with valued positions in the trading book and investigating any discrepancies to reflect the true economic value of the trading portfolio.
  • Assist in identifying, assessing, and mitigating trading risks, while reporting financial risk insights to senior colleagues.
  • Maintain and analyze trading data to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency, while delivering performance insights to traders and leadership.
  • Prepare and submit regulatory reports to authorities and support external audit processes by responding to auditor queries and ensuring trading activities are properly reflected in financial statements.
  • Communicate complex financial information clearly with traders, risk teams, senior colleagues, and external stakeholders.
  • Work collaboratively across functions to support a coordinated approach to trading activities.
  • Contribute to the work of related teams within the functional area and collaborate with multiple business units.
  • Take responsibility for operational processing and outcomes delivered by the team.
  • Escalate policy or procedure breaches appropriately and support the implementation of new policies introduced for risk mitigation.
  • Provide informed input to decision making within the area of expertise.
  • Manage risk and strengthen controls across owned responsibilities while delivering work in line with regulations and codes of conduct.
  • Build knowledge of how the sub‑function integrates with the broader organization, including its products, services, and processes.
  • Demonstrate understanding of how different teams contribute to achieving business objectives.
  • Make evaluative decisions based on factual analysis and careful attention to detail.
  • Resolve issues by identifying appropriate solutions using technical knowledge and established precedents.
  • Communicate complex or sensitive information to colleagues and influence team members when required.
  • Act as a contact point for stakeholders outside the immediate function and develop a broader professional network.
Skills
  • Experience using MS Office tools including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Access databases.
  • Ability to analyze information with strong attention to detail.
  • Understanding of risk controls and the ability to identify and elevate potential control issues.
  • Capability to break down complex problems and resolve them effectively.
Preferred Qualifications
  • CFA or a master’s degree in finance or financial engineering is advantageous.
  • Articleship or industrial trainee experience in mid to large firms is beneficial.
  • Audit exposure in large financial institutions or banks is preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
  • CFA or Master’s in Finance/Financial Engineering preferred
