Qualifications

• 3-5 years of BOM management experience.
• Strong business acumen and results-orientated.

• Make sound decisions using facts and data; develop comprehensive plans with enterprise view.
• Qualified candidates must have a B. Tech or BE degree preferably in Technical Major.
• Sound knowledge on IT Tools like Power BI, Power query etc.

Responsibilities

• Ensure FSU and IPR guidelines align with GPDS milestones and VPP targets.
• Interpret engineering letters to ensure accurate data input into WERS BOM database.
• Liaise with Engineering to verify BOM data before release.
• Apply correct color codes to parts per the Program Direction Letter.
• Maintain 100% BOM accuracy and quality for prototypes and production builds.
• Audit parts via surrogate comparison and structure audits to identify missing or extra usage.
• Interpret program direction letters correctly for usage coding.
• Maintain WERS structures for bailment, in-house assemblies, and cross-plant parts.
• Coordinate with Purchasing/Engineering/Manufacturing for inputs and release structuring.
• Perform Release Analysis to ensure accurate BOM releases in WERS.
• Support PPM launch activities with cross-functional teams across streams.

Job description

The Bill of Material (BOM) Analyst is a critical role responsible for the creation, maintenance, and accuracy of Bills of Material for new product launches and ongoing product changes. This position plays a pivotal part in ensuring product data integrity throughout the entire product lifecycle, from concept to end-of-life. The BOM Analyst will collaborate extensively with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality and accurate BOMs, and will actively work on process optimization and improvement initiatives to ensure effective resource utilization and maximum system efficiency. This role directly contributes to streamlined manufacturing, cost control, and the delivery of high-quality products.

Major Responsibilities

• Ensure FSU, IPR guidelines are met in line with GPDS Milestones and program VPP targets.
• Analyze and interpret engineering/program direction letters to assure accurate processing of data into - WERS [Ford data base of BOM Release].
• Liaise with Engineering and check the accuracy of data before releasing of BOM in system.
• Utilize Color charts to create and apply correct color codes are released for part number in system in - line with Program Direction Letter.
• Maintain 100% BOM accuracy and quality levels in support of both prototype and production builds - through various audit methods as below
• Perform part audits through Surrogate comparison, Structure Audit etc. Tree Chart and identify missing or additional usage for a part number in a commodity
• Proper Program direction Letter interpretation for usage coding.
• Maintain structures in WERS for bailment parts / in-house assemblies / cross plant shipments as - required
• Coordinate with Purchasing / Engineering / Manufacturing for inputs and accurate releasing - structuring of bailment / cross plant ship parts in system prior to release
• Conduct efficient Release Analysis to ensure 100% accurate releases in WERS
• Support PPM launch activities for allocated new programs in coordination with members from all - PPM work streams
