Job summary

S&P Global Energy is seeking an Analyst, Critical Minerals Supply Chain, to join the Metals & Mining team in the Energy division. The role involves building bottom-up economic models for critical minerals, and working with multiple teams to shape pricing, supply, and demand outlooks.

The analyst will develop asset-driven cost models across upstream and midstream segments, provide SME input on product roadmaps, and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders worldwide.

Qualifications

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • High technical literacy with delivery toolsets (Excel, SQL, Python).

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with S&P Global Energy and Market Intelligence to model pricing, supply and demand.
  • Develop asset-driven cost models for critical minerals across upstream and midstream.
  • Provide input to refine client UI and contribute to product roadmaps.
  • Build customer relationships and understand stakeholder needs across the business.
  • Partner with other groups to maintain cross-functional alignment.

About the Role:

Grade Level (for internal use): 09 The Role: Analyst, Critical Minerals Supply Chain

The Team:

The Analyst position is within the Metals & Mining group with the S&P Global Energy organization. The Metals & Mining group provides data and research on the entire mining value chain from exploration and mine pipelines through demand and price forecasting.

Responsibilities and Impact:
  • The Analyst, reporting to an Associate Director, will work closely with peers in both the S&P Global Energy organization along with S&P Global Market Intelligence to create comprehensive, cohesive and transparent coverage of the pricing, supply and demand outlooks for critical minerals - from assets to downstream demand to address multiple client needs/workflows.
  • Contribute to a team of analyst to create asset driven cost models for a variety of critical minerals covering both the up-stream and mid-stream segements
  • Provide subject matter expertise input to refine the client user interface
  • Provide input to the Associate Director on product & data roadmaps
  • Build an understanding of customer needs and work towards maintaining strong working relationships with customers
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with other groups and stakeholders across the entire S&P Global business
What We're Looking For:
Basic Required Qualifications:
  • Experience creating bottoms-up economic models, preferably for the mining or commodities industry
  • Proven track record of cross-group collaboration
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • High technical literacy with delivery toolsets (excel, SQL, python etc.)
  • Strong commercial mindset, with the ability to work with many stakeholders and take product from idea to reality
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in the mining industry, at a mining company or financial institution covering the mining sector
  • Strong knowledge of metal markets and supply chains
  • Experience in product development
