As a Preventive Fraud Analyst, you will play a vital role in protecting customers and financial operations by identifying suspicious transactions, investigating potential fraudulent activity, and reducing financial crime risks. Working within the first line of defence, you will monitor diverse payment types and customer behaviours, making informed decisions that balance fraud prevention with an excellent customer experience. You will use analytical tools, investigative techniques, and open-source intelligence to assess alerts, document findings, and support regulatory compliance. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will also help improve fraud detection processes and operational efficiency. This six-month contract offers an opportunity to strengthen your expertise in transaction monitoring and fraud risk within a technology-driven financial services environment.

Accountabilities:
  • Analyse transactions across multiple payment types and financial products to identify unusual patterns, suspicious behaviours, and potential fraudulent activity.
  • Review and investigate fraud alerts using internal systems, analytical tools, and open-source intelligence to determine appropriate actions and outcomes.
  • Assess customer activity and transaction data carefully, identifying emerging fraud patterns and potential risks while maintaining a fair and balanced approach to customer needs.
  • Manage an individual investigation caseload efficiently, meeting established productivity, quality, and operational performance targets.
  • Prepare clear, concise, and accurate Suspicious Activity Report (SAR) narratives in line with applicable regulatory requirements and internal procedures.
  • Maintain comprehensive investigation records, including supporting evidence, decision‑making rationale, findings, and case progression.
  • Identify opportunities to improve fraud detection tools, investigation workflows, and operational processes, recommending changes that strengthen efficiency and risk prevention.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across relevant departments to ensure effective coordination, consistent decision‑making, and smooth operational processes.
  • Communicate with customers by telephone when necessary to gather additional information and support investigations.
  • Ensure customer interactions remain professional, fair, and responsive while taking appropriate steps to mitigate fraud risks.
  • Stay alert to new fraud trends and contribute to the continuous improvement of preventive monitoring practices.
  • Work within a flexible, 24/7 operational environment, adapting to assigned shifts and maintaining consistent standards of quality and performance.
Requirements:
  • Between one and three years of relevant experience in transaction monitoring, fraud prevention, fraud risk, or a related financial services role.
  • Good understanding of fraud concepts, transaction monitoring methodologies, suspicious activity indicators, and financial crime risk.
  • Strong analytical and investigative skills, with the ability to interpret large datasets, recognize patterns, identify anomalies, and draw sound conclusions.
  • Exceptional attention to detail when reviewing transactions, assessing alerts, documenting evidence, and preparing investigation reports.
  • Strong written and verbal English proficiency at C1/C2 level, with the ability to communicate clearly with customers, internal stakeholders, and regulatory bodies when required.
  • Excellent written communication skills, particularly the ability to produce structured, concise, and accurate investigation summaries and SAR narratives.
  • Familiarity with fraud investigation tools, transaction analysis systems, and open‑source research techniques is highly beneficial.
  • A proactive, curious, and solutions‑oriented mindset, with the confidence to ask relevant questions, investigate discrepancies, and resolve complex issues.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage an individual caseload and meet productivity and quality targets in a fast‑paced environment.
  • A collaborative approach, combined with sound judgment, decisiveness, accountability, and a results‑oriented working style.
  • A continuous improvement mindset, with the ability to identify inefficiencies and recommend practical ways to strengthen processes and controls.
  • Flexibility to work rotating shifts in a 24/7 operational environment, including night shifts where required.
  • Willingness to attend the Hyderabad office approximately four times per year and during high‑level leadership visits, with advance notice provided.
Benefits:
  • Six‑month employment contract offering valuable experience in fraud prevention and financial services operations.
  • Competitive salary aligned with the role and relevant experience.
  • Flexible working arrangements under a remote‑work policy, allowing work from home or elsewhere within your home country.
