Job summary

EXL is seeking a junior accounting professional in India to support month-end close processes, journal entries, and reconciliations. The candidate should have a background in accounting and strong MS Excel skills, with excellent communication to coordinate with auditors and finance teams.

The role covers TB checks, variance analysis, and adherence to internal controls across geographies, aiming for process standardization and smoother transitions.

Qualifications

• Graduate with Accounting major or equivalent.
• 0-1 year of experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities as per defined timelines.
• Post journal entries with proper documentation and approvals.
• Handle daily cash, holdings, trade transactions and their respective reconciliations.
• Prepare and review reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
• Perform variance analysis of P&L and balance sheet accounts.
• Support preparation of TB checks and schedules.
• Ensure accuracy of ledger balances.
• Ensure adherence to accounting standards (IFRS, US GAAP, or local GAAP).
• Maintain compliance with internal controls and company policies.
• Respond to queries from auditors, controllers, and business stakeholders.
• Support regional or global finance teams across geographies.
• Identify opportunities for process standardization and automation.
• Support transition activities and SOP documentation.
