Job Description & Responsibilities

We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-driven Planning & Scheduling Engineer to lead project planning, scheduling and progress monitoring across multiple projects. This role is critical in ensuring timely project delivery, optimal resource utilization and proactive risk management. The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in project scheduling tools, construction sequencing and progress tracking, along with the ability to provide actionable insights to drive project efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Planning & Scheduling
    • Develop detailed project schedules (baseline, revised and recovery schedules) using tools like Primavera / MS Project.
    • Define project timelines, milestones, critical paths and dependencies.
    • Align schedules with project scope, resources and contractual requirements.
  • Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) Development
    • Create and maintain a structured WBS for all projects.
    • Break down project scope into manageable activities and deliverables.
    • Ensure alignment between WBS, BOQs and project execution plans.
  • Progress Monitoring & Control
    • Track actual progress against planned schedules; conduct variance analysis.
    • Monitor key metrics such as SPI (Schedule Performance Index) and delay indicators.
    • Provide early warning signals and recommend corrective actions.
  • Resource Planning & Optimization
    • Plan and allocate manpower, materials and equipment based on project schedules.
    • Optimize resource utilization to avoid bottlenecks and delays.
    • Coordinate with procurement and site teams for resource availability.
  • Delay Analysis & Recovery Planning
    • Identify causes of delays and perform delay analysis (EOT, impact analysis).
    • Develop and implement recovery schedules and mitigation strategies.
    • Support claims related to delays and time extensions.
  • Reporting & MIS
    • Prepare periodic planning reports, dashboards and progress updates.
    • Present schedule performance insights to leadership and stakeholders.
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date project planning data.
  • Stakeholder Coordination
    • Work closely with project managers, site engineers, procurement and design teams.
    • Ensure alignment between planning, execution and procurement activities.
    • Participate in project review meetings and provide planning insights.
  • Process Standardization & Improvement
    • Develop and standardize planning templates, methodologies and best practices.
    • Implement planning tools and automation for efficiency.
    • Drive continuous improvement in project planning and controls.
