Job summary

Torrent Power is seeking an electrical engineer to review and validate engineering for thermal power plants. Responsibilities include developing Single Line Diagrams, performing engineering studies, and supporting technical evaluations.

Ideal candidates will hold a Bachelor's or Master's in Electrical Engineering and possess experience in the thermal or oil & gas industry. Knowledge of ETAP and AutoCAD will be advantageous for this role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering.
• Experience in Thermal Plants, Oil & Gas Industry, preferably in EPC or Engineering Consultant environments.
• Knowledge of ETAP, AutoCAD, and advanced MS Excel is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Review and validate engineering for electrical systems in thermal power plants.
• Work on transformers, switchgear, motors, and electrical systems.
• Develop and review Single Line Diagrams (SLDs) and system architecture.
• Perform load flow, short-circuit, and cable sizing studies.
• Review technical specifications and vendor drawings.
• Support technical bid evaluations and vendor coordination.
• Review electrical layouts and coordinate with Civil and Mechanical teams.
• Provide engineering support during construction and commissioning.

Job description

Responsibilities

• Review and validate basic and detailed engineering for electrical systems in thermal power plants.
• Work on transformers, EHV/MV/LV switchgear, motors, MCCs, VFDs, UPS, and DC systems.
• Develop/review Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), system architecture, and load distribution schemes.
• Perform and validate load flow, short-circuit, motor starting, voltage drop, and cable sizing studies.
• Review technical specifications, datasheets, BOQs, vendor drawings, and engineering documents.
• Support technical bid evaluations (TBE), vendor coordination, and engineering compliance.
• Review electrical layouts, cable routing, and coordinate with Civil, Mechanical, and I&C teams.
• Provide engineering support during construction, commissioning, testing, and system energization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering
• Experience in Thermal Plants, Oli & Gas Industry preferably in EPC, Engineering Consultant, or OEM environments.
• Advantage if candidate having knowledge of ETAP, AutoCAD, and advanced MS Excel.
