Job summary

The Kiran Group is seeking an experienced HSE Manager - Transport Safety to lead safety and environmental programs across our transportation operations in India. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
• Diploma/PG Diploma in Industrial Safety preferred.
• 6–12 years of HSE experience in chemical/logistics.
• Strong knowledge of Motor Vehicle Rules, PESO, Factory Act, OSHA.
• Experience in incident investigations (RCA).
• Familiarity with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001.

Job description

Lead safety excellence across our fleet by ensuring world-class HSE standards in hazardous chemical and LNG transportation.

We are looking for an experienced HSE Manager - Transport Safety to lead our Health, Safety & Environment initiatives across our transportation operations. The role is responsible for developing and implementing safety systems, ensuring regulatory compliance, reducing operational risks, conducting audits, investigating incidents, and building a strong safety culture among drivers, operations teams, and contractors.

The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in road transportation, hazardous chemicals, LNG or petroleum logistics, with strong knowledge of statutory safety requirements and operational risk management.

Responsibilities

1. Develop and implement the company's HSE policies, procedures, and safety management systems.
2. Ensure compliance with statutory regulations related to hazardous chemical and LNG transportation.
3. Conduct regular fleet safety inspections, terminal audits, and operational safety assessments.
4. Plan and execute driver safety training, defensive driving programs, toolbox talks, and emergency response drills.
5. Investigate accidents, near misses, vehicle incidents, and customer complaints to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
6. Monitor safety KPIs including accidents, incidents, unsafe acts, violations, and corrective action closure.
7. Ensure compliance with PPE, permit-to-work systems, journey risk management, and vehicle safety standards.
8. Coordinate emergency preparedness and response for transport-related incidents.
9. Liaise with customers, regulatory authorities, auditors, and certification agencies during HSE audits.
10. Maintain HSE documentation, legal registers, incident reports, and compliance records.
11. Support implementation of ISO 45001, ISO 14001, Responsible Care, SQAS or similar management systems where applicable.
12. Promote continuous improvement and a proactive safety culture across all business locations.

Requirements

1. Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Industrial Safety, or a related discipline.
2. Diploma/PG Diploma in Industrial Safety or equivalent qualification preferred.
3. 6-12 years of HSE experience, preferably in chemical logistics, LNG transportation, petroleum, or hazardous goods transportation.
4. Strong knowledge of Motor Vehicle Rules, PESO, Factory Act, OSHA principles, and hazardous chemical transportation regulations.
5. Experience conducting incident investigations using Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
6. Familiarity with ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and safety management systems.
7. Strong communication, leadership, and training skills.
8. Ability to travel to customer locations, terminals, and operating sites.
9. Proficiency in MS Office and HSE reporting tools.
