Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of experience in Network Operations / Alarm Monitoring in a telecom or IT network environment.
  • Strong understanding of network technologies across access, transport, and IP domains.
  • Hands-on experience with OSS/NMS tools like Netcool, HP OpenView, SolarWinds, etc.
  • Knowledge of fault management processes, ITIL, and SLA-driven operational models.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to interpret alarms quickly.
  • Excellent communication and coordination for global teams.
  • Able to work in a 24x7 shift environment (rotational shifts, weekends, holidays).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Electronics, CS, or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Perform 24x7 alarm monitoring and first-level fault analysis across technologies.
  • Identify, analyze, and prioritize network faults using NMS/EMS tools.
  • Escalate with Level 2/3 support and field engineers to restore service within SLAs.
  • Execute proactive monitoring to detect early warnings and prevent degradations.
  • Track and manage incidents through their lifecycle with fault management systems.
  • Support incident, problem, and change management per Ericsson GSC standards.
  • Generate and analyze performance and health reports for improvements.
  • Participate in shift-based operations to provide round-the-clock surveillance.

About this opportunity

We are now looking for an Alarm Monitoring Engineer to join our Network Operations team at Ericsson. In this role, you will be part of a global operations environment ensuring network stability, performance, and customer satisfaction through proactive alarm monitoring and incident management. You will play a key role in identifying network faults, performing first-level analysis, and collaborating with technical and field teams to drive timely fault resolution. What you will do
  • Perform 24x7 alarm monitoring and first-level fault analysis for network elements across multiple technologies.
  • Identify, analyze, and prioritize network faults using Ericsson and multi-vendor NMS/EMS tools.
  • Escalate and coordinate with Level 2/Level 3 support teams and field engineers to ensure service restoration within defined SLAs.
  • Execute proactive monitoring to detect early warnings and prevent service degradations.
  • Track and manage incidents through their lifecycle, ensuring accurate documentation in fault management systems.
  • Support incident, problem, and change management processes in compliance with Ericsson’s Global Service Center (GSC) standards.
  • Generate and analyze network performance and health reports, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in shift-based operations to provide round-the-clock network surveillance coverage.
The skills you bring
  • 1–3 years of experience in Network Operations / Alarm Monitoring in a telecom or IT network environment.
  • Strong understanding of general network technologies and concepts across access, transport, and IP domains (vendor-agnostic).
  • Hands‑on experience with Ericsson OSS/NMS tools or other multi‑vendor management systems (e.g., Netcool, HP OpenView, SolarWinds, etc.).
  • Knowledge of fault management processes, ITIL best practices, and SLA-driven operational models.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to quickly interpret alarms and determine probable root causes.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills for effective collaboration across global teams.
  • Ability to work in a 24x7 shift environment (rotational shifts, weekends, and holidays).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Electronics, Computer Science, or equivalent.
