Job summary

The Eplane Company in Chennai seeks an experienced engineer for the Airworthiness group to work on mechanical systems, airframe design and transmission systems for our electric VTOL aircraft. You will interact with design teams to ensure DGCA design requirements for Type Certification are met.

Responsibilities include performing load calculations, FEA, and safety-critical analyses for aerostructures and mechanical systems, with collaboration across cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace/Aeronautical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
• Working experience in fixed/rotary wing aircraft/UAV/VTOL aircraft structural design and analysis.
• Good knowledge in composite materials.
• Experience with load calculations and optimization of aircraft structures.
• Understanding of Mechanical Systems.
• Experience in developing safety critical analysis for aerostructures and mechanical systems.
• Knowledge in DGCA rules & regulations specifically on aircraft Type Certification, design organization approval and ITSO authorisation.

Responsibilities

• Interact with ePlane design groups for the compliance of DGCA design requirements for Type Certification.
• Conduct structural analysis and safety-critical assessments of aerostructures and mechanical systems.
• Apply FEA and CAD tools to model, analyze, and optimize airframe and transmission systems.

Job Description

The Airworthiness group at ePlane company is looking for someone with experience in Mechanical systems specifically across airframe design & analysis and transmission systems for ePlane’s electric propulsion VTOL aircraft, to interact with ePlane design groups for the compliance of DGCA’s applicable design requirements for the Type Certification of the aircraft.
Tech Skills: Computational modelling, Finite element analysis (FEA), CAD software (such as CATIA, SolidWorks)
Requirements

Must-Have:
Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace/Aeronautical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
Working experience in fixed/rotary wing aircraft/UAV/VTOL aircraft structural design and analysis
Good knowledge in composite materials.
Experience with load calculations and optimization of aircraft structures.
Understanding of Mechanical Systems
Experience in developing safety critical analysis for aerostructures and mechanical systems
Knowledge in DGCA rules & regulations specifically on aircraft Type Certification, design organization approval and ITSO authorisation.

Good to Have
Master’s degree in Aerospace or Structural Engineering .
Previously worked on development of composite based drones or aircraft
Understanding of CS/FAR-23 or CS/FAR-27 regulations of EASA / FAA
Prior experience in working on Type certification and ITSO authorisation
Knowledge of Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and Lean methodologies.
Experience in maintenance, reliability analysis, and risk assessment.
Understanding of Prototype manufacturing of aircraft
Knowledge in preparation of technical documents and manuals for the type certification.
