Role: Mechanical Design Analysis Engineer for UAV (Fixed-wing, VTOL, Multi-copters)
Location: Surat (On-site)
Experience: 2-3 years
Seeking a highly advanced analysis Engineer to lead aerodynamic and structural analysis of UAV systems (multirotor, VTOL, fixed-wing), covering simulation, optimisation, validation, and certification-level documentation.
Key Responsibilities
Perform advanced CFD using: ANSYS Fluent, ANSYS CFX
Conduct structural & nodal analysis using: ANSYS Mechanical
Analyse: Lift, drag, induced drag, flow separation, wake & vortex behaviour
Model: Multirotor aerodynamics, VTOL transition (hover forward flight), Fixed-wing performance
Apply turbulence models: k- SST, k-, LES
Execute: High-quality meshing, grid independence & convergence studies
Design & optimise: Airfoils, wing geometries, UAV configurations (L/D, endurance, payload)
Perform: Parametric studies & iterative optimisation
Support: FSI (fluid-structure interaction) and coupled simulations
Correlate: CFD/FEA results with flight test data
Certification & Documentation
Prepare: Aerodynamic & CFD reports, FEA / structural validation reports
Support: Type certification (DGCA / defence standards), Compliance documentation & audits
Required Skills
Strong expertise in: UAV aerodynamics (VTOL, fixed-wing, multirotor),Lift, drag, induced drag & flow physics
