Job summary

Virtusa is seeking an AI Technical Architect with Generative-AI experience to lead end-to-end GenAI solutions across Hyderabad and other major Indian tech hubs. You will architect RAG-driven workflows, deploy GenAI models to production, and mentor engineering teams while engaging with clients to translate business needs into robust AI roadmaps.

The role demands 13–20 years in software/data science, expert GenAI knowledge, strong leadership, and experience with governance and cost controls.

Qualifications

• Minimum 13 years of software engineering and data science experience.
• At least 3 years focused on GenAI and deployed multiple GenAI apps.
• Strong leadership, mentoring, and client communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design end-to-end GenAI solutions with RAG architectures.
• Oversee production deployment of GenAI models for scalable, low-latency systems.
• Provide hands-on coding, code reviews, and troubleshooting to teams.
• Establish evaluation frameworks to measure hallucinations, faithfulness, relevance.

We need a AI Technical Architect with Generative-AI Experience with 13-20 Years Experience to be base at Hyderabad/Gurugram/Pune/Mumbai/Bengaluru/Chennai

Key Responsibilities

• Architectural Design: Lead the design of end-to-end AI solutions, with a heavy focus on RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) architectures and Agentic AI frameworks to automate complex workflows.
• Production Deployment: Oversee the transition of GenAI models from PoC to production, ensuring scalability, low latency, and cost-efficiency.
• Technical Mentorship: You are expected to roll up your sleeves, write code, conduct code reviews, and provide hands-on troubleshooting to unblock the engineering team.
• Evaluation & Governance: Establish rigorous evaluation frameworks (e.g., RAGAS, G-Eval) to measure hallucinations, faithfulness, and relevance. Implement guardrails for AI safety, bias mitigation, and data privacy.
• Client Leadership: Serve as the primary technical point of contact for clients, translating vague business requirements into robust technical roadmaps and communicating complex AI concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Governance: Proven track record in implementing AI governance, including cost tracking, rate limiting, and compliance with emerging AI regulations.

Required Technical Expertise

• Generative AI: Expert-level knowledge of LLMs (GPT-4, Claude, Llama 3, Gemini), Prompt Engineering (Chain-of-Thought, ReAct), and fine-tuning strategies.
• Frameworks: Mastery of orchestration tools like LangChain, LlamaIndex, or CrewAI.
• Agentic AI: Agentic AI Patterns, Context Engineering, Memory management.
• Classic AI/ML: Strong foundation in supervised/unsupervised learning, NLP, computer vision, and statistical modeling.
• Infrastructure: Deep experience with Vector Databases (Pinecone, Weaviate, Milvus) and MLOps/LLMOps pipelines.

Qualifications & Skills

• Minimum 13 years of experience in software engineering and data science, with at least 3 years focused on GenAI.
• Proven Track Record: You must have successfully deployed at least two GenAI applications into a high-traffic production environment.
• Leadership: Exceptional ability to hand-hold teams through technical hurdles while maintaining high velocity.
• Communication: Clear verbal and written communication skills; comfortable presenting to C-suite executives.
• Education: Bachelors or Master’s in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field (preferred).
