Job summary

Persistent Systems is seeking an AI Engineer to design, develop, and deploy Agentic AI applications using Python and modern AI frameworks. You will build agent workflows, RAG pipelines, and vector search solutions, while integrating with enterprise APIs and tools.

You will collaborate across product, engineering, and business teams to deliver scalable AI-powered features, with emphasis on reliability and performance in a hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• 5 to 8 years of experience in Software Development, AI Engineering, or Machine Learning.
• Strong programming expertise in Python.
• Experience using Python libraries such as NumPy and Pandas.
• Hands‑on experience with FastAPI and Streamlit.
• Experience building applications using LLM APIs and GenAI frameworks.
• Hands‑on experience with LangChain, LangGraph, Google ADK, Phoenix, Guardrails, or Mem0.
• Experience implementing RAG architectures and retrieval systems.
• Knowledge of embeddings, vector search, and semantic retrieval concepts.
• Experience with vector databases such as FAISS, Milvus, or similar platforms.
• Familiarity with Hugging Face and open-source AI ecosystems.
• Understanding of Agent-to-Agent (A2A), MCP, and emerging AI interoperability standards.
• Experience building tool‑calling and workflow‑based AI agents.
• Exposure to machine learning and traditional AI techniques is an advantage.
• Knowledge of REST APIs and enterprise integrations.
• Understanding of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Familiarity with ReactJS or Next.js for AI application front‑end development is preferred.
• Experience working with Git and collaborative development practices.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Self‑motivated with a passion for AI innovation and continuous learning.
• Experience building personal AI projects, GitHub repositories, or agentic applications is an added advantage.
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field.
