Job summary

Ascendion in Pune is seeking an AI Data Engineer to design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines for structured and unstructured data. You will work with Spark/PySpark, cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP), and data storage technologies to enable AI-driven solutions.

You will build data lakes and feature stores, apply MLOps, and collaborate with Data Scientists, ML Engineers, and Software Engineers to deliver AI-powered products.

Qualifications

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines for structured and unstructured data.
• Build and optimize data pipelines for AI/ML and Generative AI applications.
• Prepare, clean, and transform datasets for machine learning model training and inference.
• Integrate AI/ML models into production environments and applications.
• Develop and maintain data lakes, data warehouses, and feature stores.
• Work with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP) to deploy and manage data solutions.
• Implement data quality, governance, security, and monitoring practices.
• Optimize SQL queries and big data processing jobs for performance and scalability.
• Collaborate with Data Scientists, ML Engineers, and Software Engineers to deliver AI-powered products.
• Create technical documentation and support CI/CD for data and AI pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Hands-on experience with Apache Spark or PySpark.
• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
• Knowledge of data storage technologies such as Data Lake, Data Warehouse, and Delta Lake.
• Familiarity with orchestration tools like Apache Airflow or Azure Data Factory.
• Understanding of machine learning workflows and MLOps concepts.
• Experience using Git, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile methodologies.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Preferred Skills Experience with Databricks.
• Knowledge of Generative AI, LLMs, LangChain, Azure OpenAI, or similar AI frameworks.
• Familiarity with vector databases (e.g., Pinecone, FAISS, ChromaDB).
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of streaming technologies such as Kafka or Azure Event Hubs.
• Exposure to data governance and security best practices.
