Job summary

Ascendion is looking for an AI Data Engineer in Pune to design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines for structured and unstructured data, enabling AI/ML and Generative AI workloads.

You will work with Spark, cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP), data lakes and warehouses, Airflow or Azure Data Factory, and collaborate with Data Scientists and Software Engineers to deliver AI-powered products. Familiarity with Databricks, Docker, Kubernetes, and streaming tech like Kafka is a plus.

Qualifications

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines for structured and unstructured data.
• Build data pipelines for AI/ML and Generative AI applications.
• Prepare, clean, and transform datasets for machine learning model training and inference.
• Integrate AI/ML models into production environments and applications.

Responsibilities

• Hands-on experience with Apache Spark or PySpark.
• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
• Knowledge of data storage technologies such as Data Lake, Data Warehouse, and Delta Lake.
• Familiarity with orchestration tools like Apache Airflow or Azure Data Factory.
• Understanding of machine learning workflows and MLOps concepts.
• Experience using Git, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile methodologies.
• Preferred Skills: Databricks integration.
• Knowledge of Generative AI, LLMs, LangChain, Azure OpenAI, or similar AI frameworks.
• Familiarity with vector databases (e.g., Pinecone, FAISS, ChromaDB).
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of streaming technologies such as Kafka or Azure Event Hubs.
• Exposure to data governance and security best practices.

• Collaborate with Data Scientists, ML Engineers, and Software Engineers to deliver AI-powered products.
• Create technical documentation and support CI/CD for data and AI pipelines.

Required Skills

Strong proficiency in Python and SQL.

Experience with ETL/ELT tools and data pipeline development.
