Job summary

Ajinkya Chemtech invites an Agriculture Specialist to join our Pune office, supporting field activities, trials, and farmer interactions across crops. You will study product literature, agronomy, pest management, and crop economics to reinforce our agri-input portfolio.

The role requires 3–5 years in agri business, strong technical writing, and the ability to travel extensively to farmer fields and trial locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Agriculture or related discipline.
• 3–5 years in agri business, technical services or crop protection.
• Knowledge of crop production, pest & disease management, crop economics and agri-input products.
• Strong report-writing and extension material skills.
• Willingness to travel extensively for field visits and trials.
• Coordinate with marketing and field sales teams.

Responsibilities

• Study packaging material and product literature.
• Study crops across pathology, entomology, soil science, agronomy and economics.
• Prepare write-ups for literature, extension material, brochures, etc.
• Study competitors' products on technical parameters and pricing.
• Participate in field activities, demonstrations and farmer meetings.
• Collect feedback from field days and farmer meetings.
• Prepare and organize field trials for existing and new products.
• Visit farmers' fields for study and extension activities.
• Coordinate with marketing field staff on technical matters.
• Execute market surveys with guidance from senior team members.
• Support marketing events including product promotions and launches.

Role & responsibilities

• Study packaging material and literature of all products.
• Study various crops such as Tomato, Chilly, Brinjal, Potato, Onion, Okra, Cucumber, Grapes, Pomegranate, Citrus, Cotton, Sugarcane and Mango, with respect to Pathology, Entomology, Soil Science, Agronomy and Economics.
• Prepare write-ups for literature, extension material, website content, brochures, pocket books, etc.
• Study innovative and new products developed by other companies.
• Study bio-efficacy, mode of action, compatible dose and composition of each of the company's products.
• Study competitive products with respect to technical parameters, pricing and other aspects.
• Participate in field activities such as demonstrations, field days, farmer meetings and campaigns.
• Carry out continuous follow-up and collect feedback from demonstrations, field days and farmer meetings.
• Prepare and organize field trials for both existing and new products.
• Collect all technical information related to the company's products.
• Visit farmers' fields for study and extension activities.
• Maintain accurate records of farmer data.
• Coordinate with marketing field staff on technical and product-related matters.
• Execute market surveys with guidance and support from senior team members.
• Support marketing activities including product promotion, campaign execution and branding at the field level.
• Assist in planning and conducting marketing events such as farmer meets, product launches and promotional campaigns.

Preferred candidate profile

• Bachelor's / Master's degree in Agriculture, Agri Business or a related discipline.
• 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in agri business, technical services or crop protection, preferably in the agri-input industry.
• Sound knowledge of crop production, pest & disease management, crop economics and agri-input products.
• Strong communication and report-writing skills for preparing technical and extension material.
• Willingness to travel extensively for field visits, trials and farmer meetings.
• Ability to coordinate effectively with marketing and field sales teams.

Location

Pune Office, with frequent travel to farmer fields and trial locations as required.
