Job summary

GMR Group is seeking an Aviation Planner to independently manage airport master planning and infrastructure planning assignments in India. The role carries end-to-end ownership of planning deliverables, ensuring ICAO/IATA alignment with project objectives, without team management duties.

You will use AviPLAN, AirTOP, and CAD tools for layout design and simulations, coordinating with projects, engineering, architecture, and external authorities to deliver accurate outputs and timely approvals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering / Architecture / Urban Planning / Aviation Management.
• 8–12 years of experience in airport planning / aviation projects.
• Independent contributor with strong coordination across internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Prepare airport master plans, feasibility studies, and planning deliverables.
• Develop airside, landside, and terminal planning layouts following ICAO/IATA/DGCA standards.
• Coordinate with internal teams and external authorities, consultants, airlines, and other stakeholders.
• Mentor junior employees in Master Planning and manage multiple concurrent assignments.

Job description

Aviation Planner will independently manage and deliver airport master planning and infrastructure planning assignments. The role involves end-to-end ownership of planning deliverables, ensuring compliance with aviation standards and alignment with operational and project objectives. This is an individual contributor role without team handling responsibility.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Responsibilities

• Prepare airport master plans, feasibility studies, and planning deliverables
• Timely completion of deliverables as per project timelines
• Develop airside, landside, and terminal planning layouts Accuracy and compliance with ICAO/IATA/DGCA standards
• Conduct demand assessments and capacity analysis of airside / landside facilities
• Quality and reliability of analysis with minimal rework
• Ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks and planning standards
• Zero or minimal design/approval deviations
• Perform simulation modelling using AviPLAN, AirTOP and other similar tools
• Accuracy and effectiveness of simulation outputs
• Coordinate with internal teams (projects, engineering, architecture design, connectivity)
• Smooth coordination and alignment across functions
• Engage with external stakeholders (authorities, consultants, airlines, ground handling companies)
• Stakeholder satisfaction and timely approvals
